20 Early 2000s Hits You May Have Forgotten About
We're taking it back.
The early 2000s have produced some major hits that we will all play for many more years to come. Here is a list of some of my personal favorites from the era. With no exclusion of genres, this may give you a little bit of deja vu.
- "Luxurious" — Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani samples the great and iconic song of the Isley Brother's "Between the Sheets," while putting her own twist on it. This is definitely a song anyone could vibe to, even today.
- "Love & War" — Jerzee Monet
The sweet vocals of Jerzee Monet along with one of the prettiest melodies I have ever heard, this 2002 song is one I will never forget.
- "I Luv Your Girl" — The Dream
The Dream is someone who does not come short of hits, whether he is producing them, singing them, or both.
- "She's Alive" — Outkast
Stemming from Outkast's album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, this song really speaks for itself. Just give it a listen.
- "That's How You like It" — Beyonce, Jay Z
Queen Bey and Jay. What more can you say?
- "My Love" — The Dream, Mariah Carey
The 'Radio Killa' and the butterfly came together to give us this beautiful duet in 2009.
- "Someone to Call My Lover" — Janet Jackson
There is a great remix to this song made by So So Def and featuring Jermaine Dupri, but my heart will always stay with the original.
- "Int'l Players Anthem" — UGK, Outkast
One of the greatest rap collaborations, paired with an iconic video we will always enjoy at that.
- "Delirious" — Vistoso Bosses
There is no telling how many times I listened to this song when it came out. The Vistoso Bosses are two cousins who gaveusa bop to sing, dance, and rap to.
- "4 in the Morning" — Gwen Stefani
Coming from Gwen Stefani's second studio album The Sweet Escape, this song could speak to many of us.
- "Still on My Brain" — Justin Timberlake
A beautiful song from Justin's successful Justified album. This track was one of many that was able to showcase Justin's soulful singing abilities.
- "How You Remind Me" — Nickleback
A powerful song in both vocals and lyrics. Written by Chad Kroeger from personal experience, this was the band's breakout single.
- "Rock Star" — Nickleback
If this song doesn't make you want to become a rock star, I don't know what will.
- "Bring Me to Life" — Evanescence
If you ever need a song to rock out to in your bedroom and swing your hair around to, here you go. You're welcome.
- "L.E.S Artistes" — Santigold
A beautifully constructed song. I strongly recommend to watch the video as well, definitely a work of art.
- "Case of the Ex" — Mya
Mya has been so generous to us throughout the years with numerous hits of hers.
- "Playas Gon' Play" — 3LW
Naturi, Kiely, and Adrienne. Three little women. This is one of those songs that makes it impossible not to dance and sing along to.
- "My Band" — D12, Eminem
It's impossible to be an Eminem or D12 fan and not know this song. We can only imagine the fun they had while recording the song and video.
- "Obsession" — Frankie J
"Amor, no es amor." Enough said!
- "Suga Suga" — Baby Bash, Frankie J
I really don't know how anyone could have made it through the 2000s without hearing this bop. We could definitely use another hit from this duo.
I hope you guys enjoyed checking this playlist out! These songs are just a few of my favorites from one of my favorite eras. If you would like to request another playlist of any type, feel free to let me know!
With lots of love,
Alexis
