We all know and love some of the most iconic artist collaborations that have come out throughout the years. From Beyonce and Jay Z to Nick Minaj and Ariana Grande to Justin Beiber and The Kid Laroi, we have seen various collaborations hit the charts and go viral. However, with as many music artist collaborations that go viral, there are others that get overlooked. Here are 10 of the most underrated music artist collaborations

#1: Fall Out Boy & RM

BTS members seem to be in every other collaboration coming out these days. However, this collaboration came out towards the end of 2017 and it did not get nearly the attention it deserves. Not only do I think it's actually better than the original version of "Champion," but RM's raps are incredibly impressive from both a technical and lyrical standpoint.

RM captures the vibe and meaning of the song, adding to it, instead of just being a random feature. He also gets two entire verses instead of the normal one verse seen in most collaborations. I think this shows the true collaboration that took place between the two artists to take one piece of art and add to it to create a new one.

#2: Ariana Grande & Cashmere Cat

Ariana Grande has been part of several iconic collaborations. However, a few of her collab songs have gone severely unnoticed. The one which gets the worst treatment in my opinion is her collaboration with Cashmere Cat called "Quit."

The song is gorgeous and haunting. When it came out, I was surprised when I didn't see much about it or hear it on the radio. It's worth a listen, though the lyrics are a bit intense at times.

#3: New Kids On The Block & Lady Gaga

If this collaboration took place today, I do believe it would be much more iconic than it is. The song came out towards the beginning of Lady Gaga's career and she was still relatively unknown. Still, working with one of the biggest boybands of the Gen X and early Millenial period is a pretty big flex.

The song is extremely suggestive, but fun, and I think her voice and vibe fit it well. I often listen to it when I need a bit of nostalgia.

#4: Zedd & Kehlani

Zedd has had countless big songs and collaborations of the 2010s. Having worked with big names with Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Shawn Mendes, it is surprising when a Zedd song doesn't make it big. His song with Kehlani is one example of such a song.

Now, the song didn't go completely unnoticed, but compared to the radio play Zedd songs usually receive, "Good Thing," was relatively ignored. However, the empowering message, unique lyrics, and Kehlani's vocals all make this song a hit in my opinion.

#5: Rosalía & The Weeknd

Like Ariana, the Weeknd has had a few major collabs in the last few years. However, a more recent one with Spanish artist, Rosalía I think is extremely underrated. Not only is it a sexy, addictive song, but it is entirely in Spanish, a language the Weeknd does not speak.

Due to this, the song did not take hold on US radio or with US audiences. Yet, I think it deserves more attention and I find that Rosalía's and the Weeknd's voices go well together.

#6: Kelsea Ballerini & Halsey

There is nothing better than two female singer-songwriters of different genres coming together. Halsey's and Kelsea Ballerini's "the other girl" is a song that fits both their styles and aesthetics. It also seems to point out how different the two women are.

Despite featuring two of the biggest female artists in pop and country respectively, this song still did not gain much notice. I think it is one of the more unexpected collaborations for both artists and the song turned out to be the perfect marrying of their two styles.

#7: Chungha & Christopher

Chungha, a Korean artist, and Christopher, a Danish artist, created a collaboration called "Bad Boy" that is fun and fits both of them perfectly. Having become a fan of each of them separately, it was a bit surprising to come across this song. Still, the song works and it's a shame that it is not more well known.

The song is entirely in English which is not uncommon for either artist, but did not really catch on beyond either artist's fans.

#8: Jackson Wang & Gucci Mane

In an interview about this song, Jackson expressed that he was surprised that Gucci Mane responded and accepted the collaboration proposal. Thankfully, he did because the song shows off each artist's style and also solidified Jackson's solo career. While this fan is popular among Jackson's fans, it has the potential to be much bigger.

#9: Lecrae & John Legend

Lecrae, who is known for his Christian rap has gone severely underrated for years, in my opinion. Despite winning a Grammy, I do believe that he deserves a much wider listenership. Even though his music is often classed as Gospel or Christian music, most of them are not overtly religious.

Working with John Legend on a song called "Drown," I think this song had the potential to earn Lecrae more recognition, but unfortunately, it seems that it has gone largely unnoticed. Lecrae also has a beautiful collaboration with Tori Kelly that nearly made this list.

#10: Loote & Joe Jonas

I could write an entire article about how the pop duo, Loote are underrated. They do many collaborations with other artists including Eric Nam and John K. However, their song with Joe Jonas "Longer Than I Thought" has all the qualities of a hit pop song.

Yet, it still makes this list because it remains obscure except for fans of Loote. While Loote has gained more popularity recently, they still have not reached the heights I think they deserve.
