A Meal A Meeting and A Mojito
There was a time I could pop up at Ricardo Steak House for a meal and a Mojito, but not anymore. Why? Because I must make a reservation. And I would suggest you not pop up either believing you're getting in because you won't. Well, let me rephrase that, don't pop up on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sunday evenings expecting to get in because you won't. Well, you might if you're patient enough and have time to kill. I will tell you why a little later in this article, but first, let me give you a little information on this great spot in East Harlem or Spanish Harlem, whichever one you prefer. Ricardo was established in 2004 and located at 2145 Second Avenue between 110th and 111 Streets. We (the locals) thought it would not last. How many steaks can one person eat? But after going there a few times and experiencing the food and the drink, we knew why. Ricardo is more than a steakhouse. It is the place to be if you want to be seen, along with good food.

A Total Mess
I only think about this incident when my siblings and I get together at my parent's house and talk about old times. And, don't let us get a few drinks in us; then it's an evening of laughs, with one of us getting more laughs than the next and him or her becoming the honorary sibling for the night. We love roasting each other from time to time, but when it's my turn, it always balls down to this one embarrassing moment in my life. Now, I was just a child, but imagine how you would feel if your siblings kept bringing up the same old story over and over again, especially around friends and family members. And I swear they add more to the story each time they tell it. So, here it is in my words and how I remember it since it happened to me.

The Soup Kitchen
It was beautiful outside. Mother loved this time of year, but it sometimes made her sad - that Sidney, his dad and she were no longer a family, but she still had Sidney. She prayed every day for her situation to change, for happiness and enough to take care of herself and her son, but she never gave up hope. "One day," she thought, "One day".
