The movie Fresh stars Daisy-Edgar Jones as Noa and Sebastian Stan as Steve. Noa is a young woman trying to find a guy and like every hopeless millennial she went to online dating. We are introduced to Chad who is Noa’s date. He’s talking about how much he loves wasabi but that he feels like he’s going to vomit every time he eats it. Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response or ASMR videos are a part of the Zeitgeist of the 2020’s.
I was scrolling through TikToks as a “Gen X '' person does and I came across an ASMR video by Trisha Paytas. I seldom watched ASMR videos before Paytas’ Tiktok because honestly, I didn’t understand the hype. However, I was instantly raptured in a state of tranquility. ASMR content creators speak in a soft, hushed tone and say pleasant words to help viewers fall asleep, reduce anxiety, or simply relax.

If it Weren't for Iban
The village of Paloma is inland from the fallen cities that have been demolished for over fifty years. As the sea levels elevated, more flooding ensued thus, lives were relocated upland from the Pacific Ocean. The year is 2070; Industry died decades ago. In the desert of the Great Basin alongside the state of Utah: Iban, a young woman, squints at the hills in front of her. As she crouches beside the river, the bottom of her leaden-colored skirt grazes the terracotta sand. She embraces her legs with her protective arms while her coarse mane percolates in the wind. Adult bodies are shuffled behind her by the other townspeople.
