A Burger Guy's Surprise
I’m a burger guy. I love a good cheeseburger. A thick patty of juicy meat cooked medium to medium well, just a thin line of pink in the middle. Add a ripe tomato, some lettuce, some onion, and of course cheese. A good tasting bun, or toast, and, sure, add some sauce or ketchup, mustard and mayo. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! That is why it’s surprising that when I think about what summer tastes like for me, it’s not a burger. In my defense, burgers are all season food. I live in Wisconsin – it’s grilling weather all year long here. Wintertime, just throw on a snow suit, shovel off the grill, and its burger time. So, what evokes the taste of summer for me?????? It’s salad.

Blue Eyes
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. The light shined dimly in the dark woods, even though it was only an apparition. The cabin and the old stone stairway were the only things “Blue Eyes” McGee had loved. He put his blood and spirit into both when he built them in 1896. The cabin came into disrepair and had collapsed after Blue Eyes had perished, falling from the bluff, like his other victims. Only the foundation remained and was used to build another shack, which was now also deteriorating upon itself. The old stone stairs remained almost forgotten, winding up the side of the bluff to the top.

Dwarven Dragon Warrioress
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Then the dwarf lady arrived. Who ever heard of a dwarf with dragons? She came to town with several loaded wagons, and said she was looking for the owner of the mystical valley. All of our sleepy little hamlet knew the owner, for he was none other than the mayor, Bugetrory Lorance. He loved that valley with the stream flowing out of the cave at the base of the mountain, meadows of wildflowers, and pools full of trout. Now, if the dwarf lady wanted the valley, we all knew the answer would be no. Others had tried to purchase it before for absurd amounts of money; he always said no. So she was pointed to the mayor’s house and was let in.
