Waves
I don’t think I’ve ever felt absolute and complete peace. I’ve felt moments of a cold, calm wave, disguised as peace. Yet, with every wave that hits you, the sound of the wave smacking hard into your body can be heard. All you are left with is the sight of the wave going back into the ocean, you are left standing there, freezing the wind sending goosebumps all across your body. You begin to yearn for another wave just for a minute or moment of peace, although after you know you’ll be left standing there feeling only the goosebumps the wave left behind. Once you realize this you lay on the sand in the sun, you begin to think about the wave hitting your body thinking “it wasn’t so bad” and you’ll eventually go in again, you’ll miss the anticipation of seeing the wave the thrill of it all; yet it always ends the same. It’s human nature to want peace, we’ve been told all our lives that peace is a person more specifically love. What we have never been told is love is a wave, like all things do it will die and you will be left standing there. It is my belief then that we must be comfortable with the goosebumps with ourselves with it all. It is a tiny reminder that we are human and any wave that hits us we have a choice, we can go back in or lay in the sand.
