When Life Gives You Lemons...
In January of this year, I moved from my inner city suburbs apartment, (where the neighbors were NOT dealing well with lockdown - the sole perk of working weird hours was that I rarely had to deal with them) and into the western suburbs, which added to my commute time but reduced the level of noise and late night shouting.

Black Summer
Partly the original bits-and-pieces draft that ultimately became the my Superhero Trilogy "Two Sides of the Same Coin", this short story was beaten into something coherent for a charity fundraiser in the wake of the Black Summer Australian bushfires in 2019-2020. A heavily edited version found it’s way into “The Darkness Before the Dawn”, but since it ultimately stood on it’s own, I decided to publish the original version here.

Doomsday Diary
Day 1 of Elvira Smith’s Doomsday Diary, mid-October, 2053… No one can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. I wouldn't know, but I imagine the one screaming feels much as I do now. Does it count if you're the only one who can hear yourself scream?
