Secret of The Stars
I saw him again. I went out by the shore to see Jesse standing in the sand, gazing up at the dark sky. The wind blew right off the ocean, cold enough to make my nose ache with every breath. But I went to Jesse and stood beside him. He wasn’t any particular kind of guy. Just average. Not tall, not short, nor ugly or cute. He even had brown hair and brown eyes. The kind of guy you’d miss in a crowd.
The Island of Feathers
The ship was left to anchor at sea while a small rowing boat headed to shore. It slid into the glittering sand, coming to a halt. Only three occupied this vessel, two of them Human.
There’s Something in This Swamp
Something slithers in the night. You flash your light on it, only to see two glowing orbs staring silently back at you. “Shouldn’t be out here,” Jeg says, “Bayou ain’t safe.”
From The Grave
There is a way to give back life to the dead. In my pain, I had discovered and learned of witchcraft. I took up necromancy. Amidst the mockery and shame, I studied magick—to right what was wrong. And now the night had come for me to finally act.
Michael was the most popular boy in middle school. He was tall with dark, curly hair and greenish eyes. All the girls liked him, including me. I kicked myself for it, but he was boyishly handsome. And me? I was the kid dressed in all black, constantly snacking and hiding away from all the other students.
“I’ve been restless lately,” I said. Dr. Walker looked up from his notepad. His grey eyes peeked over the rim of his silver frames.
