I’ll Be Brief
I have been writing for Vocal for a little over a year now. I wouldn’t call myself the most prolific writer. I average about one or two stories a month, but I have fun with it. Maybe someday I’ll write a book, but for now it is short stories and amusing personal anecdotes.

Frog in the Salad
Sal hadn’t written anything in weeks. His publisher was willing to give him an extension in good faith, but that only made him more anxious. Maybe the well had run dry. It was bound to happen. He was over forty now. His dick still worked, but if this went on much longer, he’d trade erectile function for a brain that could write the next chapter of his goddamn book.

Jolly Holiday
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. Nicky insisted on renting a sports car for this trip. So impractical. I’d call it a mid-life crisis, but he’s much too old for that. It’s funny how I was the one who suggested getting away for the weekend, but he latched onto the idea with his special brand of enthusiasm, the kind I fell in love with.

Poor Judgement Leads to Turkey Mishap
I’ve always loved the idea of hosting a dinner party and what is Thanksgiving, if not the ultimate dinner party? I practically begged my family to let me host the first year my husband and I were married. We lived in the crappiest apartment in PG County, Maryland, but I was determined to throw the best Thanksgiving ever.
