CURTIS JERE
Jerry Fels and Curtis Freiler, Jerry's in-laws, came up with the idea for Curtis Jere, which was established in California in 1964. Renoir & Matisse, run by Fels and Freiler, produced costume jewellery before they became Curtis Jere. In 1963, a fire destroyed Renoir & Matisse; the two artists then made the decision to start anew in the decor industry. They gave their new company the name Artisan House and chose Curtis Jere as their pen name for the metal decor line. Their own personal objective for Jere? "Gallery-quality art for the masses" shall be produced.
