The AMBU Bag and Its Use
A AMBU resuscitator bag, sometimes called the generic or proprietary name a manual ventilator or "hand-in-hand resuscitator", is an air-tight bag that delivers positive pressure air to a patient while he or she is not breathing on their own or not responding to other methods of ventilation. A wide mouth opening and airtight seal are designed to prevent air from escaping and keep ventilated patients' chest and abdomen completely sealed. This design uses an air compressor to vent, rather than a standard bag-valve mask device. Venting allows for more efficient pressure air delivery into the bag than with an open-face mask. AMBU and similar brands of hand-held resuscitation bag are available at many hospitals across the United States.

The Pros of Using a Neonatal CPAP for Infants
CPAP, an acronym for continuous positive airway pressure, is a form of therapy used to help reduce sleep apnea in adults and children. CPAP is also known as positive air pressure, or more commonly, CPAP machines. CPAP is a medical device that uses pressurized air to keep a patient breathing regularly through the night. This machine has been used in hospitals since the 1950s but has only recently become commercially available.

Endotracheal Tubes – Benefits and Uses
An endotracheal tube is simply a catheter which is inserted directly into your trachea to ensure an adequate exchange of air and oxygen and for the purpose of setting up and maintaining an open airway. It is also known as an Endoscope or Endoscopic Tracheoscope. This is because the tubes are actually very small, about the size of a small camera lens and they are most often used in surgery as they are much less sensitive than the larynx. The reason this is the case is because the tubes are not directly connected to the windpipe and trachea, so they don’t provide any sensation to the patient. Therefore, there is no need for the typical feeling of burning, like you would get if a surgical wound was sutured.
