Cracked but Not Broken
** TRIGGER WARNING** As I sit here and think about writing this article, my heart thuds loudly and my mind begins to retreat into my “fight or flight” mode. To this day, this event still has that effect on me. It has been over 25 years, but it still has a grip on me and my decisions with people, places, and situations. I’m not super open about this. I have told people and of those only 2 or 3 people know the offender’s identity. But it has been 25 years and this challenge is giving me the opportunity to be open and I’m ready to share how this has affected me throughout high school and most of my life. If you are willing to listen I am finally ready to share this with whoever would like to listen.

Little Black Book of Love Letters
The smell of coffee hung heavy in the morning air as I pulled my jean jacket on quickly followed by a backpacked stuffed to the brim with books. “Bye Granny! The bus is here!” I hollered as I turned towards the door bumping into my great uncle as he was stepping through it, mail in hand. Letters and bills fluttered to the tile floor like falling leaves. “I am so sorry, Uncle Frank!” I mumbled as I knelt and began to collect the mail.

Stuck on Doom Patrol
Grab a cupcake and let me explain. I am a new HBOMax subscriber. To be honest, years ago I had been a HBO piggybacker and I loved their array of original series. So when the pandemic hit, I had subscribed to several streaming networks just to keep the new stuff rolling in to keep the masses entertained. Color me surprised when I found out that the DC universe had combined all of its content into HBOMax. I was pretty excited actually. I had been wanting to finish the Harley Quinn cartoon series. (FYI, it's also pretty funny, awkward, gorey.)

My Experience with Ghosts
I think that I have always believed in ghosts, spirits, or whatever you would like to call them. It was always one of those things in life that I had just accepted as fact. The sky is blue, 2 + 2 = 4, the grass is green, and my paternal grandparents who died at least 5 years before my birth never visited me together because they hated each other. Or at least that’s what I told my mother at the age of 5 whenever our front door would randomly open and I would run to it and talk to one of them for a couple of minutes.
