once upon a time the world wasn’t so scary; now I see the ghosts.

wine-hazed clarity, falsely gilded memory; was numbness worth it?
the constant refrain, of good times trapped in the past; do you remember?
How I long for days when all I had to grieve was the end of summer.

In this dismal, unending winter, pervasively grey-gilded days, diamond rare, is, I have found: unadulterated, ray-of-sun-bursting,
