Heir of Vengeance
I don’t remember anything before Mama. She found me wandering deep in the forest, too far from any village or town for my own small legs to have carried me there. My first real memory is the feeling of her warm scales and the deep hum of her voice as she sang me to sleep in our cave.

The Lost Flame
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. During the colder months, they mostly stayed in their warm caves deep in the mountains, though some few species chose to leave all together and chase the warmer weather. The most effective guides knew exactly when to cross the Valley; unfortunately for Grace, none of them were particularly interested in helping her on her journey.

Practice Makes Perfect
One of my earliest and fondest memories of my Grandmother is playing Slumbering Child. The rules were simple: my sister and I would lie in our beds and pretend to sleep while Grandma tried everything from tickling to bribery to trick us into revealing we were awake. When we got older, Grandma told us stories of creatures that would come in the night and devour us if they knew we were awake.
