Red Light, Go
It was a Thursday afternoon. I was sitting at my desk at work, bored from monotony. The phone rings. I answer reluctantly. It wasn't business. It was Juan, a life long friend from childhood. "There is a plane ticket waiting for you at the travel agency on 50th street. You leave tonight. Cheese, Lam and I will meet you at the baggage claim." "Juan, where are we going?" "You will find out when you pick up your ticket. Make sure you have your passport. See you Later." My drowsy state quickly dissipated. I grabbed my sport coat off the back of the chair and started my journey to 50th street.

One Tasty Burger
The hamburger is named after the German city of Hamburg. The modern hamburger as we know it was invented to address the need for affordable food for the emergence of the working and middle class during the industrialization era. Since I began eating hamburgers 40 years ago, the one consistent ingredient was the meat...it was consistent and boring. Hamburgers were not made tasty by the meat. Great taste always had to do with a special sauce or bun or onion jam....anything but the meat. My mom used to make the best burgers! Eventually, I couldn't order burgers at a restaurant because they didn't stand up to my mom's. When I was old enough she taught me the secret. So, my foodie friends, I am sharing with you my decades old recipe of a burger that is all about the meat...and don't think it's about putting short rib or foie gras inside the meat. My burger has simple ingredients and makes all the difference. No condiments needed, but always welcomed!

Music and Memories
Journey is a great American rock band with one of the most iconic songs ever written, "Don't Stop Believin'." Its message is simple: Believe in your dreams and believe in yourself. It's some of the greatest, yet simplest advice I could offer to anyone. Although this song is not tied to a specific memory or time period along my journey (no pun intended), it represents a simple overarching theme that has held true throughout my life. Shockingly only reaching #9 on the billboard charts in 1981, here is "Don't Stop Believin'."
