The Eclipse
The Beauty of an Eclipse 1. Introduction The older responses to eclipses appear to have been that they were a disruption of the natural order of things, especially in the case of solar eclipses. This is understandable since solar eclipses occur when the light from the Sun is suddenly cut off. It was one thing when it became dark after the setting of the Sun, but when the Sun was shining and then darkness reigned, it was cause for alarm. In ancient China, it was believed that solar eclipses occurred when a dragon devoured the Sun. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks believed that the events were ill omens, and wars being fought at the time of an eclipse are said to have been stopped. In more recent centuries, there have been records of witnesses to an eclipse becoming frightened or running to get indoors. One of the most famous recent events was during the War of 1812 when a group of Native Americans at Fort Mims in Alabama were frightened by a solar eclipse and as a result, this prevented them from attacking the fort. In many primitive cultures, eclipses are still seen as bad omens. In India, for example, it is still a widely held belief that food cooked before an eclipse is rendered impure and unfit to eat.

Education and Technological
Education and Technological Contemporary Issues 1. Introduction By using technology in schools, we can create a world in which students are no longer passive receptacles of knowledge conveyed by a teacher or textbook. In addition to simply making the educational process more enjoyable for students, the use of technology can have a number of positive effects on how and what students learn. For instance, today's visual and audio tools can provide students with easy access to complex ideas, and thus they can explore and interact with these ideas in a way that is more meaningful to them. Technologies can also provide new ways of learning and understanding that are not reliant upon the constraints of traditional schooling. For example, students can work individually at their own pace, and if they are confused or stuck on a certain concept, they can access a variety of instructional resources (such as online tutorials or interactive simulations) that present the concept in different ways. Student dropout rates and failure may be reduced if technology could be used to creatively transform the ways in which students learn, and also provide realistic career preparation, as well as increased knowledge about the global society. Given that the future of the world is in today's students, it is necessary, if not imperative, that they become fluent and skilled users of technology. This can be accomplished if a technologically literate citizenry is the goal.

On the contrary, the study also discusses the various drawbacks of social media on education, by evaluating the increased distractions and its adverse effects on academic performance and education quality among students. This is done through assessing the various types of social media and their impacts and implications, a necessary step forward in understanding the multifaceted role of social media in modern-day education. This is a valuable study in weighing both the positive and negative impacts of a medium on the education system which is increasingly adopting and adapting to its presence. In essence, this study helps in identifying the issues and challenges that need to be resolved and the benefits which should be harnessed, so as to enable further facilitation and advancement of social media in education.

ROLE OF EDUCATION IN SOCIETY
The Role of Education in Society 1. Importance of Education Davis and Moore (cited in Emerson et al., 2012) took this idea and expanded on it, arguing that education also acts as a means of role allocation and promotion of social stratification, in part by sorting students according to aptitude and later fast-tracking for more bright students. Their theory was that by educational achievement in relation to economic success has come to function as the key social stratification, and allocation of jobs and placement within society begins with the earliest years of schooling and continues all the way to tertiary education. While conflict theory purports that only the elite of society will have access to high status knowledge and education, and that education is a way to maintain the status quo; it is still evident that education does indeed perform a role in transitioning individuals in and out of different social classes or status groups. This represents fairly directly the idea that education also seeks to equip the individual with knowledge and awareness of roles to play in society, and how to participate in the social processes that affect them.
