Password means,

It is a secret word or phrase that must be used to gain admission to a place.

It is a string of characters that allows access to a computer system or service.

A Password is a word, phrase, or string of characters intended to differentiate an authorized user or processor for the purpose of permitting access; from an unauthorized user, or put another way a password is used to prove one's identity, or authorize access to a resource.

In simple words, If you don't know the password you can't get in. which means each account or user has a password in order to log on to the network.

Treat your password like your toothbrush.

Says, a password is also an arbitrary string of characters including letters, digits, or other symbols. If the permissible characters are constrained to be numeric, the corresponding secret is sometimes called a personal identification number (PIN).

In general, A password is a string of characters used to verify the identity of a user during the authentication process. Passwords are typically used in tandem with a username; they are designed to be known only to the user and allow that user to gain access to an account, service, platform, device, application, or website.

One can easily log in using their private key known as a password, but there are also some options to like getting OTP(One Time Password) on the contact number or email address then being able to login or sign in, and here there is no need of manage or asking password.

It's mandatory now, we create an account on some platform they ask username and password, they will manage our password like encoding and decoding, protecting it, and validating on login or sign in and as well as when we forgot the password. Likewise, there is more option available.

Passwords are a critical part of information and network security. Passwords serve to protect user accounts but a poorly chosen password format or sharing it, may compromise, it could put the entire network or account at risk.

If your password is your name, you deserve to be hacked.

Do you know what type of passwords formats are platforms ask most?

In most of the platforms or devices or services they, ask for some format or what to include in the password while setting it. Password should include a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters or symbols. And they request that passwords shouldn't be shared with anyone or others or in social media or public places. A password shouldn't include any of the user's personal information like their name, initials, date of birth, address or phone number, or anything that others know much about you, especially nowadays.

What is an example of a good and strong password?

Yes, everyone, they ask this most of the time because they have plenty of reason,

  • They need to remember it easily
  • They need it to be short
  • They need it to be simple and fast to type
  • They need it to be no crack it easily

An example of a simple, good and strong password can be its-already-10-Oclock. It is actually long enough, contains lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters (-).

Choosing a hard-to-guess, but easy-to-remember password is important!

Do use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, symbols, and numbers. Don't use commonly used passwords such as 12345678, 87654321, 01234567, the word password, qwerty, 00000000, or a word like, honey. Also avoid data of birth settings like 01-10-1999, 01/10/1999, 01101999.

Try adding a piece of random character to a password. Adding a such character helps no one can crack or understand what it means, in this way passwords is a secured, reused.

Since the past time, online security breaches have frequently in the technological world. you might have heard it from someone or read it from news or magazine or article, and hopefully, you might have got some idea what it is actually. But now it's time to know, whether your passwords are keeping you safe from hackers or not.

Most of the breaches have revealed that people do not always seem to use secure passwords, with obviously insecure passwords such as sequential, simple, or overused like 12345678 or 'password' and even setting the same password for all their accounts; being commonly used for online services.

One possible explanation for why people use passwords like these is that they are easy to remember.

Keep calm and don't give your password to anyone.

Do you know which types of the password are most secure?

Coming to this part passwords are more secured if it follows these scenarios:

  • Passwords must have a minimum of 8 characters
  • Must not contain username directly
  • Must include at least 1 uppercase letter
  • Must include at least 1 lowercase letter
  • Must include at least 1 digit
  • Must include at least 1 special character
  • Must not have identical or series of characters
  • Must not contain the common character sequence

Some password types are:

Alphabets, Numbers, and Special Character:

  • L3t$Meet
  • forU&forM3
  • that5f!ne
  • w0rkH@rd
  • Il0vey*U
  • 5cr*llUp
  • I w!ll b3
  • let's say by3!
  • l**k here!
  • Never Sett1e!

Alphabets and Numbers:

  • m33t at 200
  • alr3ady g0n3
  • jock3r 2oo
  • c0m3 aga1n
  • g3t w311 s00n

Alphabets and Special Character:

  • p!ck up
  • Well enough!
  • but_Why?
  • k-when?
  • &what-next
  • st!ll-not

Numbers and Special Character:

  • 155 0|<@`/
  • (0/\/\3 0^
  • 533 \/ 5**^
  • &00|> ^8

Only Alphabets:

  • still searching
  • got it
  • no worries
  • let me know
  • let me get this
  • let me try

Only Numbers:

  • 321564789
  • 147258369
  • 11223344
  • 2143658798
  • 010101010
  • 120120120
  • 4807201080
  • 144480720

Only special Characters:

  • (@!!/\/\;
  • :):():{}
  • :):{:>:$
  • ?$**@!
  • (***)>=(**)

In some cases you just have to choose only numbers then it's good to handle it like a pattern.

Even you can try like if your name Aaru, then choose a number that is A =1, B= 2 and so on Z = 26. So pin or number for Aaru is 111521.

Is it really necessary to change passwords regularly?

Yes, changing the password is important. You should always change an old password that hasn't been used in over a year, but some experts recommend changing old passwords after just a few months. The more often you change slightly-used passwords, the safer you'll be; especially if you're not using multi-factor authentication.

Passwords are like underwear: you don't let people see it, you should change it very often, and you shouldn't share it with strangers.

Above passwords are only for the example or to acknowledge format, should not be used for any accounts without changing it.
