In addition to the well-known benefits of increased cost savings, stability, and predictability, hosting IT services in the cloud also provides enhanced mobility, scalability, and even enterprise-grade security.

The benefits of the public cloud don't end there. We will see what makes the cloud environment a better option for businesses.

Cloud mobility and collaboration

Some organizations are still averse to the idea of cloud computing. However, many of us have been using the cloud without realizing it. Apps like Google Drive, iPlayer, Apple iCloud, Spotify, and Kindle Cloud Reader are examples of cloud technology as a utility in our daily lives. We've enjoyed easy and instant access to our favorites, music, books, and data on the go, regardless of location or device.

Cloud computing in the workplace is the next phase of cloud transformation because it offers the same mobility benefits for your employees:

Access from anywhere: Cloud computing allows employees to move more freely within the company and from anywhere outside of the workspace.

Access to any device: The use of mobile applications and devices has evolved far beyond emails on the go and now allows access to business applications and corporate desktops on personal devices.

For mobile companies, offsite locations, contract workers, and the mobile sales force, this means the cloud enables end-users to access corporate data as soon as it's published. For businesses just starting or expanding geographically, the cloud provides the most cost-effective way to get a new business or international office up and running in no time.

Vertical and Horizontal Scaling

Since the number of servers you can provision is no longer limited by the physical size of your server cabinet, a whole new way to scale your infrastructure can be unlocked:

Vertical scaling is the process of beefing up a server by adding more CPUs, more memory, or faster disks. Vertical scaling allows you to speed up individual applications and individual threads without having to add more machines to your resource pool.

Horizontal scaling ensures higher performance at the cost of complexity. A simple example: if a server can handle 6 remote desktops, load balancing between two servers should provide 12 desktop accesses simultaneously. Adding more servers running simultaneously allows you to run more concurrent workloads.

Efficient scaling of cloud infrastructure is achieved through horizontal and vertical scaling. You can increase storage or resize your virtual machine to meet growing user needs. Once the servers can't grow any larger, you can simply add another one to handle more requests.

The Cloud for the client and the company

The ease of access to the cloud is not only an advantage for the user who wants to access their photos from anywhere, it is also a huge advantage for people who are starting their own business.

Take advantage of strategic services such as a communications platform, such as digital numbers or PBX for your cloud-based company, and you will be able to contact the service from anywhere and monitor its development from any device with Internet access. All the steps of the process can be carried out from wherever you need it thanks to the Cloud computing that supports it.
