And that’s a wrap on the Graveyard Challenge!

In case you missed it, please follow the link to understand the shenanigans that follow.

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your participation, support and generosity with your time! I am so grateful to all of you for your submissions and most of all your willingness to support other Creators!

It has been a pleasure over this last little while to see the outpouring of kindness and support we all have for one another! Seeing all the support and kindness was such a huge driving force for me as I sat in the background of this challenge! It felt so rewarding to see creators share the joy of their work being discovered and promoted by another creator.

Once more, I would like to urge all of you to take a gander at the list in the original challenge post and show those unearthed gems some love.

Here is the Complete List of Submissions.

Next, I would like to thank those of you who continued to participate in the challenge by way of casting a vote for your favourite resurrected story! I appreciate each of you taking the time to read the top 5 stories, give them some love and helping me determine the winner!

I can’t express how hard it was for me to narrow this list down to just three five choices, for all of you to help me choose from.

So now, without further ado, I would like to announce the winners of the Graveyard Challenge!

If I could have a drumroll please….

It's a Tie!!!!

Between Dick Winchester in... The Box with No Name

and Nanna !!!!!!!!!

So if you could please join me in congratulating both Celia in Underland and Stephen A. Roddewig!! It has been a pleasure promoting your work and we also need to say a thank you to their archeologists Lamar Wiggins and JBaz, for uncovering these lost gems and bringing them back to life for us!

Here are their full write ups for your own reference, in case you still haven't had a chance to read their pieces:

.

Nanna

Written by: Celia in Underland

"Celia in Underland invites the reader to be apart of one of the saddest moments in her life, every line is a tribute of beauty." - JBaz

Archeologist: JBaz

.

Dick Winchester in... The Box with No Name

Written by: Stephen A. Roddewig

This is a compelling story told from the perspective of a narrator that's both hilarious and relatable, in his quest to find his own claim to fame as he gets into a turf war with food delivery services.

"I feel he is onto something and could develop this storyline into a television series." - Lamar Wiggins

Archeologist (or as he prefers to be called, Grave Robber): Lamar Wiggins

.

The winners and archeologists will receive their prizes by the end of the day (8pm MST).

For more details, please see The Graveyard Challenge.

Once again, I'd like to thank everyone for their generosity and for particpation!! I appreciate you all so much!!

But wait!!! There's one more surprise prize that I'd like to giev out!!!

As I am sure I have said to most of you at nauseam, this challenge was a lot more successful/ popular than I anticiapted and I wanted to "secretly" reward the top archologist who submitted the most pieces to the challenge!!

So I will ask for one more drum roll, please....

(See clip above for similar effect)

It's another tie at five gems dug up each by Mackenzie Davis and Poppy!

I will be awarding each of you a $1 tip as a thank you for all the digging you did to help make my challenge so successful!! (To be paid out by end of day, 8pm MST)

These two are also extremely talented Creator's and I highly recommend you follow the links to check out their pages. There are some pieces in there that will leave you in awe of their talent!

Now, just once more I'd like to say congrats to all of our winners!! As well as thank you all for your participation!!

I hope you had fun being archeologists and uncovering the forgotten pieces, I hope you look to dig up more as you read through other creator’s works again!

Happy Holidays,

Donna Fox (HKB)

    Congratulations You deserved this

  • Donna Renee5 months ago

Yay!!!! I totally enjoyed reading these and think that YOU are super awesome for doing it! 🥰

  • Thank you to Donna for organizing and cataloging all the entries, to everyone who went out of their way to find some old treasures (not just Lamar, lol), and to everyone who took the time to read, deliberate, and vote. Two winners is always better than one! Perhaps someday the book cover will include a "Co-Winner of Donna Fox's Vocal Graveyard Challenge" badge. Immediately turned around and doubled Lamar's own winnings because none of this would have been possible without him taking a chance on the dark horse that is Dick Winchester. Cheers to you, sir 🍻
