Introduction

This is something that I was not sure how to approach. I am more than Facebook Friends with Justine, having used her work in many of my poems, and we are going to produce a collaborative art and poetry book sometime in the future.

What Still Lives With You?

I have always loved tales and myths and the thoughts that there are other worlds than our current one, somewhere just beyond the next fence in the field or the rise of the fill, or the other edge of the water.

Greek and norse myths were my favourite, but Celtic myths became part of my life especialy the land of Tír na nÓg, the lad of eternal youth, where nobody grows old, falls ill, or dies. I feel I am forever young, although my body tends to disagree with me.

I became of the music of Horslips with the albums, "The Tain" and "Book Of Invasions" which caused me to read stories of the related mythologies. This was my piece on The Book Of Invasions.

Many years ago I read the books of Corum by Michael Moorcok which are drenched in Celtic Mythology and magic.

More recently I read "The King Of Elfland's Daughter" by Lord Dunsany and I was transported into that otherworld for a while.

These stories and characters are now part of my life and I am part of theirs.

The characters and stories that Justine shares with us makes my life richer and more wonderful.

There is an Otherworld, our Tír na nÓg, which we can visit any time in our dreams.

Conclusion

This be a little fragmented, but Celtic mythlogy is woven into the fabric of my life.
