What are you most proud of?

And for what reason?

What are you most proud of?

Hi all,

I often think there will be pieces that even some of my favourite authors on here have written that I haven't read, because they haven't got the attention they'd hoped, and are sitting three, four or five pages back in your profile.

The reason for this I believe is unknown, some stories just get forgotten. I have a theory that stories that are over a ten minute read tend to not capture attention the same way as short stories do. Hence the reasoning for all the short story challenges and the multiple part stories.

I know for one, I tend not to have the time to sit and read a 25 minute story, despite the fact I've written a couple of them myself, neither of them getting the attention I'd hoped.

I have many stories on here that I am very proud of writing, I hope that you do too, and I wanted to have this post as a place where anyone who sees it can put in the comments what they're proud of the most and I will attach it to the post as and when.

Maybe, you have a story that won a challenge, or made top story, or it was your first post and that's why you're proud of it, or like I said at the start, a story that hadn't quite gained the traction you'd hoped. So you can put as many posts as you like (within reason) in the comments for me to attach to this post.

With that in mind, I have two stories to share that I am proud of;

My first is The Edge, it was my first top story, and it was written for a challenge which required it to be exactly 300 words and in a snowy setting.

My second is The Ripper, a fairly recent one that is admittedly quite long and didn't link to a challenge, but have been stewing over the idea for a couple of years and finally got around to writing it.

I hope anyone who sees this puts up their pieces as well to showcase on this post, and I'll try to read each one 🀞

Thank you all for taking the time to read!
