Was the Iron Throne Cursed?

My theory

By Louise Blake-Michael (Risen Phoenix)Published 11 months ago 3 min read

Aegon the Conqueror forged the iron throne each sword he had defeated from his enemies. Over three hundred years ago in this forging of the Iron Throne Aegon was said to have made tis maginifcent throne uncomfortable as a way to remind those in power. Uneasy is the head that wears the crown. Meaning a king should always remember he is still human.

My theory in the forging of the Iron Throne what if Aegon cursed the throne to whoever sits on it that's not a Targaryen would not be on the throne very long...

Let's dive deeper into this theory I have. Aegon was the founder and first king of Westeros.

As a Targaryen for some reason have a thing for sleeping with their siblings an almost obsession.

Aegon The Conqueror

Side note: I wrote taboo about siblings together intimately and yet I never got published. How the fuck does this happen when a lot of Literary agents, and publishers refused me... But didn't refuse George R. R Martin.

It is said that every Targaryen goes mad while sitting on the Iron Throne. This put me in the mind of what I know of the Targaryen lineage.

Aegon married both of his sisters, Visenya and Rhaenys rising to power. With this and they are dragon riders they were unstoppable. Which means the people of Westeros never stood a chance.

But what if there is something deeper, Dragons in the Game of Thrones universe are the embodiment of chaos. The Targaryen's are said to have a deep connection with their dragon companions.

What if Aegon and his sisters had a deeper connection not just to their dragons but chaos itself?

Now here my out, George R.R Martin is a genius with writing game of thrones he made this book almost an art form. But there is a lot of symbolism with the how the Targaryen's where even imagined. Maybe the house of Targaryen is the personification of havoc.

Maybe this families lineage is much deeper. Maybe Martin got inspired from old stories of Greek Mythology. It would make sense.

No king ever stays on the throne very long. In season 8, Deny's Dragon named Drogan destroyed the very thing that ended up killing his master. As a deeper meaning that not all stay on the throne. And eventually the throne does corrupt even the best of intentions.

The very thing that killed Queen Daenerys I Targaryen, thing is in Season 8 Daenerys died but she is alive in the books. Everyone got very upset about her death because they knew it was the end of the TV show.

Thing is why end a show did HBO get tired of paying George, or was it just time to put it all to rest?

The cast didn't want to leave the show or so I think.

So why end a good profit for a great show that was on the air for so long?

I don't really know why.

However, the game of thrones fandom is kinda crazy. I think I might start reading the books so that way I can create new content.

The Blood of the each king that sat on the iron throne demanded more blood to split. Aegon the First cursed the throne so that way only Targaryen's could sit on it only.

It just makes me wonder, why King? The throne rejected Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon subjecting her to many cuts. This was the Iron throne telling the people of Westeros she isn't worthy.

But if Rhaenyra isn't considered worthy does this mean she isn't a Targaryen?

That will be a just subject for my next entry?

In conclusion, I think the Targaryen's are the only house meant to sit on the Iron throne. Aegon the conqueror did curse the throne to a certain degree. Because if you noticed Targaryen's are the only ones who sit on the iron throne the longest.

The question of whether the Iron Throne was cursed adds a layer of intrigue and complexity to the narrative of a realm plagued by power struggles and betrayals. This notion encapsulates the idea that the pursuit of power can lead to a downfall, illustrating the consequences of unchecked ambition and the corrosive nature of authority.
