In the bustling world of creative expression, it is my goal that 2024 will be a pivotal year for me, and hopefully also for other aspiring writers on the innovative writing platform, called Vocal. Amidst the symphony of stories, I hope to find myself navigating the labyrinth of aspirations and creative goals, much like a protagonist in a thriller novel.

In a thriller novel, the protagonist typically faces intense challenges, suspenseful situations, and a sense of imminent danger. As a writer we will for sure face intense challenges, but probably not imminent danger.

True crime and thriller novels are both genres and writing forms I wish to explore in 2024.

Thriller protagonists are often thrust into high-stakes scenarios, where their actions and decisions play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the story. As writers, our actions, and decisions for sure play a crucial role in the outcome of our stories. However, the challenges we face, our mood and feelings will alter the outcome of our stories.

Just like a protagonist.

The thriller protagonist is often characterized by their ability to navigate through unexpected twists, solve complex mysteries, and confront formidable adversaries. They may possess specific skills or qualities that make them well-suited for the challenges they face, such as intelligence, resilience, or a unique set of talents.

And as writers we are the protagonists in our own stories.

Supporting other creators on Vocal (or any other platform), is a wonderful way to foster a positive and collaborative community.

Do good and good will come to you.

Read and Engage: I will take the time to read the work of other writers on the platform and leave thoughtful comments on their stories, sharing insights, and appreciation. Engaging with their content not only supports other but also contributes to a vibrant community.

Share and Promote: If I come across a piece that resonates with me and that I find particularly well-crafted, I absolutely will consider to share it on my social media accounts. This helps increase the visibility of the work and the writer. Most writers probably appreciate the boost in exposure.

Provide Constructive Feedback: If I feel comfortable to offer constructive feedback on the content I read, then I will try to point out what I enjoyed and, if applicable, provide suggestions for improvement.

Collaborate: I will consider collaborating with other writers on joint projects. This could involve co-writing a piece, creating a series together, or even organizing themed writing challenges. Collaborative efforts can be rewarding and help build a sense of community.

Attend Writing Challenges or Contests: Yeah, I know. Just like this one. However, as a marketing specialist I know that to participate in these events, and if possible, promote them to your network, not only supports the platform but also encourages a healthy spirit of competition and camaraderie among creators.

As the writers we are the protagonist in our own story. We will face challenges, but as protagonists, it is in our nature to be proactive, resourceful, and adaptable as we confront obstacles.

A blank page, work, family, whatever life brings you.

In essence, in stories the thriller protagonist is the driving force behind the near tension, and the success of the story often hinges on their ability to outsmart or overcome the antagonistic forces arrayed against them. The dynamic and suspenseful nature of the thriller genre relies heavily on the choices, actions, and development of the protagonist throughout the course of the novel.

My goal for 2024 is not to catch the killer (however, that would be cool!), but to catch thirty stories, and get them looked-in on (digital) paper.

And when they have served their time - release them on Vocal.

I know for sure there will be obstacles, and the biggest will be the precious thing we call life.

But that is okay.
