Thanksgiving. A time to spend with your family and close friends. A time to be grateful for the things that we have. A time for making memories, good and bad.
I recently asked my readers to write about a memory they have of Thanksgiving that stands out to them. I had a surprising turnout of articles from several readers. Many of them outstanding.
Without further ado, here are the top five memoirs.

Real Poetic's entry: Once Upon a Thanksgiving
A memoir of her childhood with her grandma, parents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. A sweet memory, including a story of greens, playing school, and such. A great entry and a must read.

Mariann Carroll's entry: Happy Thanksgiving Memoir
A memoir that describes their full day on this holiday. From the scrumptious menu to what they watch on television to unwinding in the evening. A very nice read that I enjoyed having shared with me. It really makes you feel like you are there.

A memoir talking about the loss of a loved one and dealing with the sickness of another loved one. An old post, that Rick wrote, but he didn't have time to write a new one, and asked if I would allow it. For this challenge, I have decided too. It's a story I feel should be read. A very heart-touching, enjoyable read. This story will make you cry, but not for sadness nor pity. From Rick, one can truly learn what being thankful on Thanksgiving really is.

A memory of a trip with an acquaintance to Long Island. Very nice read. Almost bordering on a fantasy due to writing style...

I hope that these stories help you find something to be grateful for today if you don't already have something.
