Every writer has their own reasons for writing. Every story, whether it's poetry, fiction, humour, or fact, has a purpose. We write to share ideas and tell stories, both real and imagined. We express our feelings and can also earn money. I'm sure that's the aim of many people. It’s unlikely you can make a living from writing without lots of talent or a large following. The exception is those who regularly win in competitions.

Writing Quicksand
Some of you may know that I write on several platforms. I have been writing for a year and a half, and in that time I have learned quite a bit. Some of what I have learned is good; some not so much. What I have found mirrors what is happening in life in general. No one is doing anyone any favors; companies are making money off others’ talents, and they seem to be the only winners.
