Prem Pehli Nazar Mein – An Anokhi Prem Kahani
This story of Ravi and Sakshi started with a simple meeting, but turned into one of the most beautiful moments of their lives. This story is about the moment when two strangers start feeling their heartbeats after seeing each other at first sight. Pehli Mulakat – Jab Aankhein Met Ravi was a software engineer, lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. His world was limited to coding, client meetings and office responsibilities. On the other hand, Sakshi was a college student, who was fond of painting and books along with her studies. One day, the two met at a coffee shop. Ravi was working on his laptop, while Sakshi was reading her favourite book. Suddenly Sakshi ordered coffee and as she picked up the cup, the coffee accidentally fell on Ravi's table. "Oh, sorry!" Sakshi said nervously. Ravi said smiling, "No problem, but now you have to pay for my coffee too." Sakshi laughed. They both felt a strange sensation when their eyes met for the first time. It felt as if they knew each other for years. From strangers to friends The two began a series of conversations following this brief meeting. Ravi loved Sakshi's talks. He was mesmerized by her innocence, laughter and perspective. Sakshi, on the other hand, liked Ravi's simplicity and honesty. The coffee shop had now become their daily meeting place. Sakshi loved books, and Ravi loved listening to her stories. Slowly, both of them realized that they were not just good friends, but had started feeling something special for each other. Izhar-e-Ishq One day, Ravi decided that he would tell Sakshi what was in his heart. He thought a lot, but could not gather courage. On the other hand, Sakshi had also understood what was in his mind, but she wanted Ravi to take the first step. Finally, one evening, Ravi waited for Sakshi at a coffee shop with a rose. As she arrived, Ravi gave her the rose with trembling hands and said, "Sakshi, I cannot imagine my life without you. Will you be a part of my life?" Sakshi's eyes lit up with happiness. She took the rose with a smile and softly said, "Maybe I too started liking you at first sight." Beautiful ending or new beginning? Ravi and Sakshi's love story had reached a unique turn. It was not just love at first sight, but a feeling that changed the lives of both. After some time, both of them told their families and with everyone's consent, they got married. Their love story started with love at first sight, but their understanding and dedication towards each other was the biggest contribution in turning it into a true relationship. Conclusion It is said, "Love can happen at first sight, but it takes true emotion and dedication to maintain it." Ravi and Sakshi's story was the best example of the fact that true love grows stronger with time. Sometimes life gives us what we are not even looking for. We just take time to recognize it!”

Who Do I Write For?
A writing colleague from this website whom I greatly admire said something in a reply to a comment I had posted on one of her stories recently that got me thinking very deeply about many things. In addition to being a good reminder of why I admire this person, it challenged me in ways I had not expected. Ultimately what she said boiled down to a question. Who exactly do you write for? Many people say that knowing the answer is one of the things that separates “successful” writers from those who are not. They argue that knowing who your readers are and tailoring what you write to meet the needs and wants of that group is the only way to build an audience and the key to selling your work. I do not think that argument is completely incorrect, however, it is for sure very wrong in one key aspect. It is not the ‘only’ path to success in writing, however one defines that loaded term. For purposes of this discussion, I will define it as the ability to make money from one’s writing (i.e. the ability to sell the things one writes to other people we call readers.) It might be the easiest way, it might be the fastest way, but it is definitely not the only way, and, one could argue it is to the detriment of any writer in the long term because it greatly limits the scope of what they may potentially write about, possibly causing them to lose out on much larger opportunities in other areas where their skills and knowledge may actually be a better fit. It certainly does not limit their ability to write run on sentences as shown by the example of the previous sentence. Moreover, it is almost impossible to know what any given person wants to read and many people, me included, take great offense if they feel they are being pandered to or targeted in a naked attempt to profit.

Absent Integrity
The world today has got me in thoughtful mode. There's a lot not to like and I do feel like we are bombarded with what is wrong rather than what is right, probably because the "wrong" stuff is so much more potent and jaw-dropping than the "right".
