The Vault
The writings of the late author, John Scipio were recently discovered in a vault in an apartment in the suburbs. The vault contained a set of stairs, that led to an upstairs room, the room contained a desk, writing utensils, a laptop, and a computer. The room had a beautiful view of the community in which he quietly lived. The writings consisted of poetry, manuscripts, and several unfinished projects.

Call For Help . Top Story - June 2026.
Hello Vocal family, I come before you today, 26 years old, humbled, scared and a little lost. There have been many times in my life where I feel as though I’ve been at a crossroads, but this is the first that I feel genuinely stuck in my tracks with no idea what to do or where to go next. I’m torn between settling for jobs I know I don’t want all for the sake of a promised paycheque, or persevering past the fear and continuing towards my dreams, despite the odds and not knowing exactly how to get there.

Am I in the Circle of Trust?
I am with a group of women at a social event. They are strong-willed and confident. Most are career women. A group of us gathers for some chit-chat about one thing or another. One woman asks me what I do, and I tell her I am a stay-at-home mom and wife. The bitter chill in the air hits like a glacier. I have been judged unworthy. The indifferent shoulder comes next. Then the comment, “Oh, that’s nice,” as she turns away to speak to another woman.

Here Comes The Flood
Introduction This was prompted by my Vocal home pages being flooded with the publications of a single Vocal Creator. That used to be a red flag and immediate unsubscription but after what happened to me on Vocal last November to January, my attitude has refocussed.

Call Me Coward, Not Ishmael
Genuinely I'm at a bit of a loss right now. Not a loss. Let me explain. I have entries for all upcoming challenges and unofficial challenges (besides Tim's and Leslie's, actually, glad I remembered those), and find myself with no real WIP really. Well, that's not true because I have a few shelved WIP that I am sitting on because I don't want to dive into them just yet. Call me a coward, not Ishmael! I don't care.
