Letter Chain Poetry Results

I was so impressed with the results of this challenge! It was not easy writing a poem for which every word starts with the ending letter of the previous word.

If you missed this one, give it a try anyway. It's a fun challenge. Well, I thought so anyway.

To be perfectly transparent, here are the criterion my daughter and I judged:

1. Did the poem follow the prompt?

2. Did the content make any sense? Not always easy.

3. Creativity, including use of alliteration and assonance.

As promised, we also awarded an extra point for those who brought their poem full circle, ending with their starting letter.

My daughter, Andrea is new to Vocal. Thanks for helping, Andrea! She has just two pieces so far and would be grateful for reads.

We didn't agree on every entry. That's what makes it valuable to have more than one judge. Our point values ultimately helped guide the decisions.

We had a total of 16 submissions. There were a few poems that we took out of contention. Luckily, all three writers had a second entry.

First, I'm going to share all of the poems that didn't place but were still written beautifully. I'm including them in order of submission.

If anyone knows why some of these come out big and some small, will you let me know if there's a way to standardize them? I assure you it is not my intention to give some more space.
