LEANING ON THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD

Our struggle then as finite mortal specimens has always stemmed from the difficulty of being content...

I reckon that in life as pertaining to matters of faith it’s crystal clear that for the believer or the one who confesses and reposes unyielding trust in God there’s absolutely no case of God being oblivious to our needs or maliciously with mischievous undertones starving us or denying us of what we need in order to make our lives worth living.

Jesus addresses this issue in Matthew 6:32(b)KJV where He says ":for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things" establishing the undeniable fact that God under no circumstance is clueless or unacquainted with the needs of the believer. The heart and crux of the matter, that believers may have to endure especially in moments when it appears we are being denied borders on the sovereignty and will of God at every given time. His sovereignty as an omniscient omnipotent eternal being will always play the music while we only dance to the tune of His making in the theater of life.

Our struggle then as finite mortal specimens has always stemmed from the difficulty of being content and adequately pleased with God's will and His sovereignty in any given matter particularly those that seek to drive in the notion that God absolutely does not care about giving us what we need or require to execute our life's assignment. Remember the comparison Jesus attempted to strike between God as a father and man as father in Matthew 7:9-11 kJV . He saids "Or what man is there of you, whom if his son asks for bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"

It’s then an incontestable fact that God is a giver of all things good. Nevertheless, knowing and understanding Gods will regardless of one’s own predicament means walking confidently in full trust in His sovereignty and preordination without feeling like one is missing out on anything in life just because they lack what they think they need. When we understand that under no circumstance are we disadvantaged when we walk gingerly under the shade of His sovereign will for our lives for which no man has the competence to manipulate or hack, we become less susceptible to the demands of worry. As the scriptures rightly put it in Matthew 6:27 NIV "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Absolutely not if you ask me.

The surest escape for the believer today from the weigh down of attempting to always coheres God or even worse emotionally blackmailing Him as though He was an emotional being into fulfilling our needs without recourse to His sovereign will is to actively confess what Jesus says in Hebrews 10:7 KJV which is “I come In the volume of the book, it is written of me, To do thy will, O God.” Every portion of our life is scripted within the sovereign will of God and our duty as believers is fashioned to do the will of God regardless of what we may or may not like, what we need or may not need. Even our attempt to enforce faith is equally enshrined within the ambits of God's sovereign will. This ensures that even one’s exploits of faith does not have the requisite verve to destabilize God's sovereign will.

Our expectations of faith as believers must be guided and bridled by our reverence for God's sovereign will above all other delights and pleasures. This is the only way our faith can reproduce results that count for something in this life and the one to come .
