Julia Dreams - A Mikeydred July 2026 Dollar Prompt For All Vocal Creators

Introduction

July is named after the Roman general and statesman Julius Caesar.Prior to 44 B.C., the month was called Quintilis in Latin, which means "fifth month," as it was the fifth month of the ancient Roman calendar. The Roman Senate renamed it Julius to honor Caesar after his death, as it was the month of his birth.

A lot of creators and friends showed their support for these challenges, so I won't let them down.

Every month, we have set prompts in the Vocal Social Society. We offer a dollar tip to five random creators who take part and ask them to share their stories in the comments and on the thread in the group.

This is not official, and usually after each one, I say that's it, and this time I think people have had enough of me.

So What's Gonna Happen This Time?

Please write a poem or story related to this month of July or a dream piece inspired by the music.

Here are a few July days which may inspire you:

July 1 is Canada Day, a Canadian federal holiday that celebrates the creation of the Dominion of Canada in 1867.

July 3 brings the start of the hot and sultry Dog Days of Summer! Read all about the Dog Days of Summer.

July 4 is Independence Day (U.S.). On the fourth of July, we celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

July 11: International Town Criers Day

July 14 is Bastille Day, which commemorates the storming of the Bastille and the start of the French Revolution.

July 15: National Hot Dog Day

July 22: Spooner’s Day

July 23: National Day of the Cowboy

July 27: Take Your Houseplants for a Walk Day

July 30: National Cheesecake Day

I will write a piece or two myself and include them, but that won't be classed as an entry.

I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with, and I know that you are all incredibly creative Vocal talents, so get your pens, paper and keyboards out.

The music is "Julia Dream" by The Pink Floyd

Take a listen, it may inspire you.

So SHARE YOUR WORK in the comments here, and/or also on the thread in the Vocal Social Society if you are on Facebook.

Please drop your entry in the comments. Otherwise, I won't see yours when I choose the random winners. Also, please link and mention this piece in your entry. Thanks for that.

On Saturday, 1st August 2026. I will award a dollar tip to five random Vocal Creators who have shared their work here.
