Now let’s have a look on what women are facing from the beginning till now:-

1-Scold’s Bridle

Though scolding today may seem to be punishment enough, in 16th- and 17th-century England and Scotland a scold was a woman who disrupted the quiet of her neighborhood with gossip and slander. To tame the scold, an instrument of punishment was born. The scold’s bridle, also sometimes referred to as branks, was a punishment for women deemed too loud or rambunctious for societal norms. The scold’s bridle was as painful as it was humiliating. A masklike device often outfitted with horns and a mask with unsettling features, the scold’s bridle forced its wearer to have a sharp metal gag that would hold the tongue, literally silencing the wearer’s voice.

2-Cucking and Ducking Stools

The cucking and ducking stools made their appearance in English circles of punishment in the 13th century and 17th century, respectively. Though not reserved exclusively for women, these stools were most famously used as torture instruments for women accused of witchcraft, prostitution, and disorderly conduct in general. The cucking stool was a public instrument of torture that very closely resembled a toilet. Its wearer was forced to sit by restraint on the cucking stool and was paraded through town. As uncomfortable and humiliating as the cucking stool was, it paled in comparison to the life-threatening ducking stool. The person punished by the ducking stool was forced to sit restrained, but this chair had a heightened risk: it was attached to a wooden beam that could be lowered into water. The ducking stool sometimes caused drownings, with a not-so-bright side: a person who drowned from the ducking was thus proved innocent of witchcraft and absolved of the crime. 

3-Drunkard’s Cloak
The drunkard’s cloak was commonly used as a punishment for public drunkenness in 16th- and 17th-century England, though it was also adapted for promiscuous women. The name of the drunkard’s cloak provides a fairly rich image of its device, which is a wooden barrel—an empty beer cask—worn as a shirt, with one hole for the neck and two holes for the arms. This incredibly heavy barrel was painful as well as humiliating; its wearers were forced to parade through the streets of the town, hearing insults shaming their behavior.
4-Marking and Tattooing
Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter famously marks its protagonist, Hester Prynne, with a red letter A for adultery after accusations about her behavior circulate. Hawthorne’s book is more than fiction: adulterers were really forced to mark their clothing to identify their crime, like Hester Prynne’s A or the letters AD as outlined by a Plymouth Colony law from 1658. Adulterers seen publicly without their letters were subject to public whipping and even further humiliation and social alienation. 
5-Pricking and Scratching
As a test from the infamous English and Scottish witch hunts, pricking was a more subtle, but still painful, form of punishment for women, as well as men, accused of witchcraft. In an effort to categorize witches who didn’t have any witch’s marks (usually unsightly blemishes or moles), a specially designed pricking needle made its way into the hands of witch hunters. These needles repeatedly pricked the flesh of the accused until it produced a result that wouldn’t bleed and was insensitive to pain, which fulfilled the criteria of a witch’s mark. Additionally, the pricked accused might also be scratched by the apparent possessed victim until the scratching drew blood. If the symptoms of possession improved, the scratch test could serve as confirmation of the accused being a witch.

6-Newborn Girls Were Regularly Left To Die

In ancient Athens, it was very common for a couple to take a newborn baby girl out in the wilderness and leave it to die—an act they called “exposing” the baby

7-Brides Were Often Kidnapped

In some parts of China, people were kidnapping brides until the 1940s. In Japan, the last reported case of bride kidnapping happened in 1959. Ireland had a widespread problem with bride stealing in the 1800s. And even the Bible relates stories of men slaughtering whole villages and taking the virgin women as wives.

Rome wouldn’t even exist without kidnapped brides. The legends of the nation start with men kidnapping the Sabine women. In the story, Romulus tells the women they she be happy to be kidnapped, because they were lucky enough to “live in honorable wedlock.”

8-Women Were Killed With Their Husbands

Until the 19th century, a woman in India who lost her husband was expected to climb onto his funeral pyre and burn herself to death along with him. Sometimes, during war, women would be expected to do this even before their husbands died. If a siege was going poorly, all the women of the village would burn themselves alive and take their children with them.

The husbands would just watch as their families burned. Then, in the morning, they would smear their wives’ ashes on their faces and go to war. These women killed themselves just to give their husbands a little extra motivation.

What Are the Biggest Problems Women Face Today?

Now let’s see what our religions said how to treat a women:-

1- In Islam there is absolutely no difference between men and women as far as their relationship to Allah is concerned, as both are promised the same reward for good conduct and the same punishment for evil conduct. The Qur'an says:

And for women are rights over men similar to those of men over women. (2:226)

2-Al-Qur’an 4:34

“Men shall take full care of women with the bounties Allah has bestowed on them, and what they may spend out of their possession; as Allah has eschewed each with certain qualities in relation to the other.! And the righteous women are the truly devout ones, who guard the intimacy which Allah has ordained to be guarded”

3-Hadith- A person asked the Messenger of Allah, “What right does the wife of one among us have over him?” His answer was, “It is that you shall give her food, you shall not slap her on the face, nor revile her, nor leave her alone except within the house” (Ahmad, Abu Da'ud, Ibn Majah)

4- The Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) said, "Women are the twin halves of men." The Qur'an emphasizes the essential unity of men and women in a most beautiful simile:

They (your wives) are your garment and you are a garment for them. (2:187)

5-Woman as mother commands great respect in Islam. The Noble Qur'an speaks of the rights of the mother in a number of verses. It enjoins Muslims to show respect to their mothers and serve them well even if they are still unbelievers. The Prophet states emphatically that the rights of the mother are paramount. Abu Hurairah reported that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and asked: "O Messenger of Allah, who is the person who has the greatest right on me with regards to kindness and attention?" He replied, "Your mother." "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother." "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother." "Then who?" He replied, "Your father."

6-Prophet (peace be upon him). He exhorted men to marry women of piety and women to be faithful to their husbands and kind to their children. He said:

"Among my followers the best of men are those who are best to their wives, and the best of women are those who are best to their husbands.

7-The Prophet wanted to put a stop to all cruelties to women. He preached kindness towards them. He told the Muslims: "Fear Allah in respect of women." And: "The best of you are they who behave best to their wives." And: "A Muslim must not hate his wife, and if he be displeased with one bad quality in her, let him be pleased with one that is good." And:"The more civil and kind a Muslim is to his wife, the more perfect in faith he is."

8-“And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them – perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.”Quran 4:19

9-Bible 1 Peter 3:7

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered

10- 1 Timothy 5:2

Older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity

11-Colossians 3:19

Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them

Now think about it . how one should behave towards women. When God has raised the status of women so high, then who are you to insult them? who are you to treat them bad ?
