Diabetes
Topic Stolen From Myself - How Common Is Diabetes - a poem
Steal From Yourself: The Prompt - Return to something you wrote years ago and use one idea, image, character, or line from it to create something entirely new.
It's time to dig through your old writing and steal something.
Find a story you abandoned, a poem you haven't read in years, a half-finished draft, or something your younger self was very proud of. Somewhere in there is a line, character, image, idea, or tiny detail worth taking.
For this challenge, take that one thing and give it another life. Drop an old character into a completely different story. Turn a forgotten line into a poem. Take the best idea from your worst draft and finally do something with it.
Diabetes in remission
that is my mission
said the dietician
and the nurse practitioner
~
Continuous glucose monitoring
what is the meaning
no finger sticks 4 times daily
nothing scaley
~
Cutting carbs did it for me
Going from 7.2 with insulin
to 6.5, no insulin, put me in remission
Still diabetic, no denial you see
~
Denial is the common happening
keeps you scrambling
to eat right, and exercising
when that isn't working
it is giving up, ignoring
no more exploring
for solutions, or listening
to find something
~
To find anything that will
be the solution, family still
try, but have denial and do
work hard to support you
It is inevitable, to hear my sister Lou
went on dialysis and I will too.
My aunt had her leg removed
and then I hear, and I refused
until it was time and here I am
I pretended it wouldn't happen, damn!
~
It appears more and more people
are becoming diabetic? Tribespeople
are especially noticeable to me
but then you will never see
them at the local clinic or be
at the diabetic programs with me
Considering all the people with
diabetes, it looks to me like four fifth
of the people have diabetes.
I say please find a way to treat us.
~
Some finding a way out of disease
are no carbs or low carbs, and please
do not knock it until you see it work.
People coming off alzheimers,
dementia, backing out of diabetes
and so much more. Energy treats
and we are so much more attune
to what it is we want and it is not
waiting for a blue moon
it was learning from the man, he taught
me to change my diet, without a riot.
No fighting, no bland diet.
~
As we age we automatically want less meat
So, then how do we get the protein, and fat
some say is so important to get to meet
our goal. Many older folks are struggling at
this. There are ways, as even vegetarians are
concerned about alzheimers, and dementia
Can they be on keto and believe in far
off ways to back out of all the
conditions that we will see from our diets.
It could cause riots.
~
Our pyramid prior to conquest in this land
was not the same as it is today, and
it was because of living off the land
No processed foods, but meat, and fat,
berries were for a short time each year
plants were the same. No white sugar,
or corn syrup, rather honey and maple syrup
The pyramid is upside down for some.
But there are ways for all to come
to a solution. It can be difficult as my mum
died from her diabetes after ten
years on dialysis. It isn't often
people will make it to ten.
~
I'm allergic to beef, coconut, mint
and gluten sensitive. Some will hint
mine and your allergies can be resolved.
Studies say in time it will be solved
people backed out of alzheimers and
dementia. That's what I want to hear.
How can that be? I really was stunned.
Schizophrenics have too much gluten.
They say bipolar benefit from ketosis.
And even psychosis.
Studies are moving, and groovin
Stay tuned to see if research will win
the fight with pharmaceuticals!
To see if the chemicals
will be taken out of the fields
even though it makes for big yields
I got cancer from the chemical
and so have many, many others!
