A Budget Subscription

Introduction

This is an expansion of an idea I posted as part of one of my pieces about the current situation. It is for Sasha Desideri's "A Dollar for Your Thoughts" to help support all Vocal Creators, which you can check out here:

I was very disappointed that Vocal were stopping payments for reads for non-V+ users. These users still bring readers into Vocal, so they should be properly rewarded.

Ten dollars is a lot for some, but why not have a budget one-dollar subscription that then rewards users for reads at maybe half the V+ rate? Then, creators would feel they are being compensated when they publish. 400 reads in a month would cover their dollar subscription.

Non-V+ reads and comments are not included in all our work for the Leaderboard, and I think that unnecessarily denigrates non-V+ Creators. We are all part of the Vocal Community, and no one should be made to feel second-class because they cannot afford the V+ subscription.

Conclusion

I have a feeling this won't be implemented because Vocal will find it too difficult, but that doesn't stop it from being a viable idea.
