A Bit of Motivation for Frustrated Writers and Content Creators

When you continue to fail, you're still doing something right

By Justiss GoodePublished 3 months ago 2 min read

When it comes to my writing and online pursuits, for the most part, I have the utmost confidence that whatever I make up my mind to achieve, will eventually come to pass.

I know this because I firmly believe in the following saying:

"Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly."

JOHN F. KENNEDY

Plainly put: If you have the courage to try, you have a chance to succeed.

I’ve spent years (more than two decades), writing online, learning to self publish, and trying to understand the ends and outs of the publishing world - especially marketing and promotion. Sheesh!

In all that time, I’ve had a gazillion failures and far less triumphs.

From where I stand, that makes me an expert of sorts.

Although I can’t make the claim of being an expert on success; I can unashamedly admit, I’m an expert when it comes to failure.

Rest assured that I know what I’m talking about, if I tell you some things that aren’t cool to do if you want to succeed.

I share tons of writing advice, along with tips and suggestions about the best choices available to new and existing writers.

But some of the time, I’m not suggesting: Do what I did and you’ll come out great.

I’m actually warning: Don’t do what I did because it doesn’t work.

So in case anyone is wondering why I write so prolifically and don’t mind sharing what I know, it’s because I have dared to “fail miserably” — time and time again.

How can this message help readers?

This message should be a reminder — to impress upon you how important it is to not get weary and give up.

  • Don’t be afraid of failure, or you will definitely NEVER succeed.

Even when things look like it’s a lost cause and there’s no reason to hang in there — do it anyway.

  • If you need to stop momentarily and regroup, take your time and do it.

Give yourself some time to rethink the situation, then get right back in there.

No matter what it is that we’re pursuing in life, we have to dare to fail miserably, and usually more than once…

Final Thoughts

I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that having learned how to develop a positive way of thinking has helped me more than anything else in life.

The right mindset forces me to keep clinging to my writing goals, dreams, and ambitions and be determined to never give up.

That is why I know that in the end, one day I will “achieve greatly”

What about you? Do you have the courage to try, try, and keep on trying, even if it feels like you're failing?

This is basically the philosophy and main focal point of one on my favorite books written by Leslie Odom Jr, titled: "Failing Up: How to Take Risks, Aim Higher, and Never Stop Learning" [Available on Amazon]

Just remember, even when it seems like all you're achieving is failure, remind yourself that if you're not willing to keep trying, you'll never be in a position to finally succeed.

Thanks for reading.
