Is it fact or merely fiction? Fact or Fiction explores the myths and beliefs we hold about gas guzzlers, self-driving cars and our on-road lives.
The Bones of Me
I don’t know which I wish more -- that I’d never gotten bone cancer, or that I’d never met the one person who loved me more than anybody else ever has.

Fate is like a whistle in the wind. You sense it, but you cannot see it, you cannot grasp it, and you cannot repeat it.
David KimballPublished 3 years ago in WheelI Gave Up My Car
I used to hop in the car to drive half a mile down the street. Simply because it was convenient and I had the option. I also lived in one of the nation's largest geographical cities, with little access to public transportation. Having a car was a necessity and one that I wanted to get rid of.
Tesla's Apocalypse Software Update
This is the best investment I ever made. Keylessly, I open the door and slide into the white vegan leather seat, running my hands over the material. Both my morals and my ass can relax in comfort.
Lindsay RaePublished 3 years ago in Wheel5 Short Crazy Essays Using a Content Idea Generator
Today I decided to try Portent’s idea generator to come with an idea for a decent blog post about Volkswagen cars. None of them was good enough for a post, but some of them are hilarious, so I have decided to write some short essays based on its suggestions.
Car Repair Payment Plans During Covid-19
Covid-19 has disrupted everyone’s daily lives. For several months no one has left their house. This has decreased the use of your vehicle to a minimum. With the kids not going to school and the people not going to their jobs, cars are just sitting idle in their garages. We all are aware of car maintenances when we use our car in daily life, but the cars need maintenance even when they are stationary.

Bought a 2011 Mercedes Benz S550 and was loving life. This was Circa 2014. Out and about everywhere. At the time I also had a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, my first ever full car purchase. As normal, living in NYC, the Tahoe had racked up some parking tickets. Oh, I don't know, about $3500 worth of tickets. Lol. In New York, over $350 in tickets wins a tow or boot, where you would have to pay the outstanding balance and the $185 towing fee. Needless to say I knew they would come for my car, so I started hiding them far from where I live. I'm in the 230's, started parking on 207st, yes 23 blocks away. I garaged the Benz there and would park the Tahoe on the street. All was good, i started paying down some of that debt, until one evening at work. From the parking lot at work, Bay Plaza Mall, they towed my Benz. They found me, lol. 11:30pm and I was like, 'Ok, I know I parked here.' I knew they had finally found me and instead of finding the Tahoe, the found the Benz, f..k!!!!!! I now had a week to pay the $3500 or they would auction off the Benz. That they did, sold for $27000, took their $3500 and send me the $23500. I still owed $22500 to the bank. Lost my Benz and got $1000 in return. What a mess.
Tesla & Car Ownership
I’ve seen this topic surface a few times in the past couple of years, especially now with the FSD (Full Self Driving) beta out for almost 2 weeks now. Zack & Jesse at Now You Know recently covered this as well on their recept “In Depth” video (linked above).

it was August 30th 2015, it was a nice hot summer day. I got my first motorcycle , it was a Kawasaki ninja ZXR 600, extremely fast bike. Well me and my girlfriend we’re going down to Saint Jacobs at the time for a festival , We had a great day , then on the way back about five minutes away from home we were going around a bend down a two Lane Highway, it was very dark and it was a big long wide turn. I was going about 100 km an hour and then I see another car on coming head on in my lane around the corner , also doing 100 km an hour, I thought we were dead , my life flash before my eyes and the car hit us. I pulled the handlebars at the last second and hit my foot right off the bumper , the impact put my foot right through the peg of the bike, I broke my leg and disintegrated every bone in my foot. My girlfriend fell off the back of the bike and slid down the road doing 100 hundred kilometers an hour , it was very dark out there and was on a road with no street lights , I can hear other cars honking there horns and swerving around her as she was laying in the middle of the road , the cars could not see her until they were right up close and had just enough time to steer out of the way . She got road rash all the way down to the bones on her knees , elbows , hands and shoulders. I ran down the road and picked her up off the highway with a broken leg and disintegrated foot, through her over my shoulder and sat on the side of the highway , we hid of the side of the road in the tall grass to wait to see if anyone stopped , the people that hit us did . I could hear them yelling “ oh my god they were on a bike , I think we killed them “. They had called 911 , and within 5 min there was cops , ambulance and fire trucks everywhere , we were still hiding in the tall grass, both injured very bad . We were found by police canine , we both went to the hospital, I went for surgery immediately and she was stuck in bed for three months having nurses come change bandages every day . It was horrible , I thank my lucky stars that if it was two more inches over we would’ve supermaned right through the windshield and would’ve been killed instantly, I also was driving with no motorcycle license, after the hospital I was arrested and taken to jail . I felt so horrible about my girlfriend, to think I’m the one that hurt her. I ended up doing six months in jail for it, and have now and not been able to get a license for the past five years . I have $100,000 in provincial offences fines , it will be a long time before I think I can ever drive again, as for my girlfriend, we both recovered and we both healed up very well, we then later on ended up having a baby girl together. Her name is raelyn anabele and is now three years old , absolutely beautiful and doing very well. Me and her on the other hand aren’t together anymore we split up six days after our daughter was born, it’s a shame because I really wish things worked out. I feel we had an angel watching over us that night because I wouldn’t be here to tell this story if there wasn’t .
Myths about classic cars people believe
There are often periods in life when you have to take a step back and simply appreciate the sheer beauty and magnificence of what is in front of you. Here in the UK we are blessed with a number of these incomparable beauty spots. From the colossal heights of the 282 Munros in the Highlands to the rugged rocks that litter the Giants Causeway. There are some occasions, however, when the admiration we project deserves to be directed in the way of a manufactured item. Admittedly, every model of car boasts something unique, whether it be environmental efficiency, technologic innovation, or sheer unrestricted power. But there are that unique few which offer something even more.

Lexus, Mercedes, Range Rover. Luxury cars are driven by the luckiest, most financially secure members of our society, but where do they fill up? Usually not in their neighborhoods. How appalling it would be to stick a big smelly gas station or convenience store near homes with perfectly manicured lawns and front yard fountains. Gas stations and convenience stores are found in higher quantity and lower quality in neighborhoods that are considered less desirable, with a lower average income per household- let’s talk about it.
