The 2012 F1 season with as many as 6 world champions

Formula 1 has so many events which can be plotted into a film. Like the movie ‘Rush’ starring Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt and Daniel Bruel as Niki Lauda or the 1966 movie ‘Grand Prix’ starring James Garner. This list below is last in this series of Film worthy F1 events. This list will take a look at the events that happened during the 1990s till present.

1. The Williams Era.

Frank Williams with his FW14B

The 1990’s is known as the Williams Era. They were the most dominant and innovative team throughout the 90’s. the team created some of the best technologies of the era. Technologies including active suspension, active assistance and continuously variable transmission (CVT). Even Ayrton Senna was very much eager to join the fastest and the most advanced team on the grid. The story of drivers like Nigel Mansell, Alan prost, Ayrton Senna, Damon Hill, David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve and Frank Williams himself can be very skillfully and cinematically showcased into a film. The book titled ‘Williams: Triumph Out of Tragedy’ is the best script for this movie. The film can showcase how Nigel Mansell won the title, the veto story of Ayrton Senna by Alan Prost, how Williams team was criticized for using technological advances to win titles, the aftermaths of the tragic death of Senna and how they overcome to win 1996 championship with Damon Hill and 1997 with Jacques Villeneuve. There’s plenty of room for some of the greatest stories.

2. Brawn GP Story.

Ross Brawn with his BGP001

The team Brawn GP has one of the most unique stories in the F1 history. When 2008 financial crisis stroked, Honda was not able to afford their Formula 1 team. The then Honda racing team sold the team to Ross Brawn for a symbolic 1-pound sterling which was the most iconic and historic move. Ross Brawn, the brain behind the dominating Scuderia Ferrari of 2000-2005 seasons along with Schumacher, bought this company from his own money and rebranded as Brawn GP for the 2009. He became team principal of the team which would change history forever. The two drivers recruited by the team were Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello and the engine was acquired by Mercedes under customers relationship. The team found a loophole to the F1 regulations which led them to a double diffuser to the car. This loophole went on to win the 2009 drivers’ championship for Jenson Button as well as constructors’ championship for Brawn GP on their debut season. The only time when a team won in their debut season in history was in 1950 which was the first year of F1. This story would never be repeated again. Some of my favorite story.

3. The War of The Silver Arrows.

The 2016 F1 season also known as Nico vs Ham season

The Silver wars was the most exciting event that occurred in the current turbo-hybrid era of Formula 1. The war every millennial is aware of. The relation between Hamilton versus Rosberg soured out in the 2016 when Rosberg was hungry for the championship title. But the competition between Rosberg and Hamilton is not new. It dates back to their teenage years when they used to do karting. Eventually when Mercedes hired both of them as drivers in the 2013 season no one knew this would be that much explosive. The fight which initially started as a garage rumor went to give us a nail biting 2014-2016 seasons. The deliberate crashes, the Monaco incident and the Spain incident were some of the best rivalry moments. The war ended when Nico won his first and only title in 2016 and decided to retired from the sport with good terms. Good Riddance to Nico.
