To help you choose the one that best meets your needs, we've listed the distinctions between the two.

The new Innova Crysta is based on TNGA-C platform, which is a monocoque platform. IN comparison with Crysta, Hycross has an SUV-like design. Crysta, on the other hand, is based on Toyota’s IMV platform, a ladder-on-frame chassis. Toyota has used this platform for their other vehicles like Fortuner, Toyota Hilux etc. Innova Crysta has a rear wheel drive setup, while the new Innova Hycross has a front-wheel drive setup.

The ladder on frame chassis is more tough and rugged than the monocoque chassis but the monocoque chassis will give Hycross more refinement and better driving dynamics and ride confort.

Exterior Design

The Hycross comes with a completely new design. It looks bolder, bigger, sportier and more SUV-like when compared to Crysta. The front end gets a new Hexagonal grille with some chrome accent along with a pair of new LED headlamps and DRLs. Crysta on the other hand comes with a projector headlamp and a trapezoidal grille. The rear end of the Hycross has a blacked-out taillight and a chrome strip running across the top of the tailgate. It also gets a roof spoiler which gives it a more sporty look.

Crysta on the other hand is plain and upright in the rear. Crysta comes with a 17-inch alloy wheel , while the Hycross comes with an 18-inch wheel for the top-end trim, and a 17-inch wheel for the base hybrid model. The base petrol model however gets a 16-inch steel wheel.

In terms of dimensions length, width and height of Hycross are 4755mm,1850mm and 1795mm respectively and 4735mm, 1830mm and 1795mm for the Innova Crysta. From these figures, the height of both the cars are the same, while the all-new Hycross is 20mm longer and 15mm wider than the Innova Crysta.

The wheelbase of Hycross and Crysta is 2850mm and 2750mm respectively. This extra 100mm wheelbase gives more cabin space for Hycross.
