This article is for those who have never tried their hands on this task and would love to give it a try rather than hiring other people to do it for you. If you have tried it and had come to the conclusion that you're never going to try it again, this article would help you out by making it easier.

First Step

First, you need to clear out the calcium ballast and keep it aside to reuse for the new tire. Next, you should jack up the tractor to make it possible for the entire wheel to be rotated by hand – do it in a way that the valve stem lets the air out of the tire at the top. After it lets all the air out, you can open its valve system by attaching a fluid adapter and a garden hose. To let the calcium solution to be drained out by gravity, you will need to place buckets below the bottom of the tire – low enough for the solution to be dripped into them. If you're unable to do this, you may have to pump the solution out via a small transfer pump. Once everything is set, rotate the tire in order to drain out the solution by gravity.

Removal of the tire

You'll be able to remove the tube after tire beads are broken down. Although one can use the sledgehammer and wedge method for this, one can also use a tool called the "bead buster," which can easily break both beads while the rim is still attached to the tractor. This tool is first driven between the bead and the rim with the help of a heavy hammer. Next, it is clamped to the rim and a ratchet is used to turn it down and break the bead. Once both beads are broken, one of them should be removed using manual tire irons. After that, the tube can be removed by sliding it out between the rim and the first bead. Once you manage to get the tube out, remove the remaining bead. It would be harder than what you would experience with the first bead, but don't give up! Then, use a hammer on the bead or make use of the tire iron and your tire will be completely removed.

Placing the tube

After cleaning the inside of the rim, the next step is to mount the new tire. You can find good agriculture tractor tires for sale that are focused on improving productivity by producers of speciality tires such as GRI Tires. Now, you must be pretty careful in terms of which side of the tire you should let down first. It has to go down from the same side that it came out from. You should go through the motions first to make sure you know the drill by heart before you attempt to mount the first bead. To install the first bead, it would help if you use lubrication along with the tire irons. Once you get the first bead on the rim, installing the tube would be the next step. Since holding the upper bead away from the rim would be difficult, you will have to make that task easier by using a length of wood for support. Once the tube is all inside, you can get the stem through the hole and fasten it into one place. Next, carefully mount the second bead without getting the tube caught between the bead and the rim.

Final step

Seating the beads using compressed air makes them expand over the rim into their final resting position. After this step, you can look forward to finally mounting the rim to the tractor hub, draining out the air, and filling it with the new solution. After you pump the solution for some time, you should stop the process to drain out the air that gets displaced by the incoming fluid. After the filling is complete, reseat the beads, drain out the air once more, and install the valve core. Next, add air to the tire and reinstall the tire chain to complete the process of replacing your tractor tire.
