Ford Mustang Cobra: Terminator

A story from a car lover

Nick Carl is an avid Ford fan from Thailand. He once owned a perfect Ford Super Duty pickup, and now he has acquired a 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra luckily. He like to call his car มัสแตง ( pony car in Thailand language). It has a special meaning and is very valuable. I think the Ford Mustang Cobra is perfect because of its independent rear suspension. In addition, it still has the factory plastic wrapped convertible top, seats and steering wheel. The Ford Mustang Cobra is also the first supercharged Mustang ever built with only 534 miles on the odometer. Let's take a look at this incredible, special Ford Mustang Cobra.

I am very interested in this special version of Ford Mustang, so I try to email and message Nick Carl for a closer look or more details about Ford Mustang Cobra. Two weeks ago, he replied me on Facebook. I was then so excited. He said he was excited to share his love of cars with me. He also picked out some things that I or readers might like to see. So the pictures you see in this post are all courtesy of him. A non-dealer prepared 03 cobra with 534 miles on it. Does this sentence surprise you? Let me explain what it means. This 534 mile example of a Ford Mustang is the "Terminator." The Ford Mustang Cobra was code-named for the 2003-2004 SVT Cobra model, which is unique. Of all the 1999-2004 Ford Mustang Cobra's, it was the only one with independent rear suspension and a supercharger.

In the 1990s and early 2000s, nearly every Ford featured a modified version of the 4.6-liter modular V8 engine. While modular V8s were never the best, the 2003 and 2004 hand-built Ford Mustang Cobra engines put out 390 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. This was a figure that seemed absurd at the time. Because at the time the Ferrari 360 Modena made just over 10 horsepower, but even fewer vehicles had more than 100 pound-feet of horsepower!

Carl is a 26-year-old welder and also a car lover. He has been a Ford Mustang fan for a long time. So he likes collecting Ford vehicles, in particular Ford Mustang. He had a 1996 Mustang Cobra, a 1997 Mustang V6, a 2003 Mustang GT, a 2011 Mustang GT, a 2015 Mustang GT, and a 2019 Mustang GT. In addition, he also had a BMW M3, the aforementioned stick shift F-250, and some race cars. A millionaire in cars indeed! Although he has collected so many cars, his favorite is still Ford Mustang.

Carl told me that it took him a long time to find a Ford Mustang Cobra, but he ended up getting lucky. He said he sold some cars and saved up for a year so he could buy a low-mileage Ford Mustang Cobra. but things turned out even better than he expected. He couldn't believe he'd found a car that wasn't even dealer-prepared and still wrapped in plastic protective film. A few weeks ago, Carl bought the car from Morrison Motors in Concord, North Carolina. Morrison Motors also operates an antique car museum. Carl says they list the Ford Mustang Cobra on their website for car sales, but when he had to go to the museum in person to pick it up. He spoke with a representative from Morrison Motors to learn more about the car. the Ford Mustang Cobra looks like it was built yesterday and it still has the plastic on top. It was amazing that he bought a brand new 2003 Mustang and that the car had never been dealership ready or anything like that.

Everyone has their own pursuits and loves. Nick Carl’s passion for cars moved me, and I hope I can also hold on to my love and not be covered by the darkness of life.
