We all must be proper drivers on the road to keep everyone and ourselves safe. In order to prevent causing any accidents, we must follow the rules on the road. While some of us actually do follow the rules, there are people who are reckless drivers and don't believe in following the rules. And many times, these people cause accidents and damages to their surroundings. So when it comes to the road, it's better to be safe than sorry.

But being a reckless driver also means getting pulled over by the po-po... it's the police. There are multiple ways you can get pulled over by the cops. The majority of the time can be causing risks that can place you and your surroundings in danger—mainly why they're pulling you over. To avoid getting a ticket by the cops, these are the common driving mistakes so many people are doing and getting pulled over for.

Your headlights are burnt out.

If your headlights are completely burnt out, either one of them or both... how are you driving during the night? In fact, you shouldn't be driving during the night if your headlights aren't working. Not only can you barely see anything that's in front of you, but the cops won't let you get away with it.

While you can't see anything that's in front of you, there are people who also can't see you. It's possible for a collision to occur in an intersection when others can't see you or even someone walking outside in the night. Cops will pull you over if your headlights aren't working.

You're tailgating.

Tailgating is definitely one of the common driving mistakes people are consistently doing. We all literally hate being tailgated, even when we ourselves do the tailgating... we hate when people do it to us. The panic of them possibly hitting the back of our car when we suddenly break rises the more they tailgate. Everyone should never tailgate... no matter how slow the driver in front of you is.

The reason why cops pull us over for tailgating is because it's possible for us to ram our cars in the back of someone's if they suddenly break hard. Tailgating brings a lot of risk into the picture, and it's something that no one should be doing.

You have overly tinted windows.

Yes, if your windows are heavy tinted, you better expect a cop's lights coming your way. Among the common driving mistakes people are still doing to this day is having tinted windows. Sure, people can have slightly tinted passenger windows, depending on the state, but there are certain states where you cannot have tinted windshields at all.

However, if your tinted windows are breaking the rules, you're most likely getting pulled over. Tinted windows are literally police magnets. Just acknowledge your state's rules of where you're allowed and not allowed to tint your windows.

You're speeding.

We all know that speeding is among the common driving mistakes people are continuing to do, even if they got a ticket for speeding before. Everyone shouldn't speed and there's no reason to; everyone has somewhere to go, you're not the only one. But this is one of the main reasons there are car accidents. Someone starts to speed, gets out of control, and crashes into something or someone. It's one of the most dangerous driving habits to stop now.

If you're driving 10 miles per hour more than the actual speed limit, police will notice and immediately pull you over. It's best if you don't speed and be patient when you're driving. We all want to get somewhere in one piece.

Your car doesn't have a front license plate.

This actually depends on what state you're living in, but if you don't have a front license plate, you can get pulled over. License plates are essential to detect the car and even the owner of it. Cops use license plates for tracking down specific drivers. They're also used to report cars.

If you live in a state that requires both front and back of your car to have a license plate, and the front of your car doesn't have one, then you can get pulled over. Yes, it's the rules. It doesn't matter if a license plate kills the look of the front of your car, you need a license plate in the front and back.

You have no side or rearview mirrors.

All of the mirrors on your car play a super important role when you're driving. It's giving you access to see certain areas where you can't normally see. When you're changing lanes, reversing, and even parallel parking, your mirrors give you more sight so you don't crash into anything.

So, when you don't have those mirrors, you've become more blind when you're driving, and it's one of the common driving mistakes. You're less exposed to your surroundings and the chances of you crashing are pretty high. Cops will certainly pull you over for this, because your car isn't in proper condition.

Your taillights are broken.

The worst is when someone suddenly stops without their taillights turning on. Chances are that their taillights are broken—and this is really dangerous. Many people with broken taillights don't realize the dangers of this, because they're simple lights. But when you're driving and the person in front of you suddenly stops and you don't notice because their taillights didn't go off, you can crash right into them. The risk is higher when driving during the night.

To avoid getting pulled over, get your taillights fixed for the sake of your surroundings and someone crashing into you.

Your car has unsafe conditions.

Your car having unsafe conditions is definitely one of the common driving mistakes. Unsafe conditions can include a loose bumper, a review mirror hanging by a thread, or a missing car door. If your car's damages was DIYed, then chances are that you're getting pulled over.

You never know if your bumper is suddenly going to come off and a car is going to drive right into it. Your car itself is basically risking the lives of those around you and yourself. So, it's important to properly have your car damages repaired by professionals.

Your license plates have large frames.

Believe it or not, certain frames around your license plate can get you pulled over. If your frames are big and are covering parts of your license plate, then a cop is giving you a ticket. Even if it's covering it by a little, a ticket is still coming your way.

Cops are very fixated on all cars carrying clear license plates. This is a reason to be cautious when picking out a frame for your license plates. Don't pick something that's big and flashy, but something more simple.

You don't fully stop at a stop sign.

Lastly, from the common driving mistakes that people continue to do, is not fully stopping at a stop sign. So many people do this even without realizing it and it's very dangerous. When someone quickly glances to their left to make a right turn, there are so many times where they didn't fully see a car coming by. And this usually results to a car collision.

If a cop catches you making a quick turn on a stop sign without fully stopping and looking both ways, he's coming after you. Even when you're only making a right turn, make sure you completely stop to see if your surroundings are clear to turn.
