Want a break from everyday life and escape into tropical bliss? Look up Koh Samui, and you’ll be amazed by what you find out. The biggest island in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui is an adventure paradise as well as a picture-perfect tropical destination for couples wanting a romantic getaway. Among the many reasons to visit this delightful tropical land are its weather, accommodation, natural beauty, beaches, romance, and adventure.

Koh Samui Beaches

Koh Samui’s beaches are serene and beautiful while forming the perfect backdrop for adventure. Take Chaweng Beach, for example. It’s among the most beautiful and developed beaches on the island.

Another must-visit beach is Chaweng Noi, perfect if you’re looking for a tranquil getaway with less noise and more stunning scenery. Likewise, Laem Set Beach, lying on the southern, less swanky side of the island, offers a peaceful experience. For sunset views and to walk along the beach holding hands with your loved one, head to Phang Ka Beach.

To discover something rather distinct and unusual, visit Lamai Beach. Here, you’ll see odd-looking rocks called Grandma and Grandpa rocks.

Another peaceful beach is Maenam Beach. Lying on the northern side of the island, it brings stunning views of Koh Phangan, a sister island of Koh Samui.

Excellent Places to Stay

Koh Samui is a beloved travel destination visited by both local and international tourists. To cater to them all, the island touts a wide range of accommodation options. Guesthouses and hotels are available options, but if you’re more of a resort person, stay at a Koh Samui island resort with easy access to the beach; your options include Avani+ Samui.

Great Weather

Koh Samui’s appeal primarily stems from its beaches and balmy, tropical weather. The island remains a tropical paradise for most of the year. However, there are two seasons to be aware of: the dry season and the wet season.

December to February constitutes the dry season. These months are characterised by clear blue skies, minimal rainfall, and pleasant temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees. It’s the perfect time for snorkelling, swimming, and sunbathing.

The wet season from September to November brings its own gifts. Although it’s called the wet season, the island doesn’t receive constant rainfall – there can be unexpected bouts of rain showers, but they don’t last long enough to put a dampener on your travel plans. Plus, the wet season sees low prices, especially with respect to accommodation.

Boat Trips to Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan is just a hop from Koh Samui. Similar to Koh Samui in almost every way, Koh Phagan features a series of beaches where you can sunbathe, stroll, or get up to all kinds of adventurous activities.

Koh Samui has flat beach grounds, whereas Koh Phagan’s beaches are rugged and dotted with coves, lush mountains, and rock outcroppings. Some of the most popular beaches in Koh Phangan include Thong Nai Pan Noi, Thong Nai Pan Yai, Haad Yao, and Salad Beach.

Ang Thong National Marine Park

Ang Thong National Marine Park is an archipelago. Both Koh Samui and Koh Phagan are part of this marine park. If you have time only for one tour and want to make the most of your limited time, use that time to visit Ang Thong National Marine Park – you won’t be disappointed. This spectacular archipelago has 42 islands, meaning there’s plenty for you to explore. Many tour companies offer guided tours to the park. Alternatively, you can get your hotel or resort to arrange a tour for you.

Jungle Trekking

Another wonderful reason to visit Koh Samui is jungle trekking. Most resorts offer jungle trekking tours with guides. You will trek through forested tracts of the island while learning about the island's biodiversity and spotting endemic flora and fauna. You can also climb to the many viewpoints scattered around the island and treat yourself to breathtaking eye candy.
