Ao Nang in Krabi is a top-notch beach destination that serves as a getaway to places like Tiger Cave Temple, the Phi Phi Islands, and Railay Bay. There are a ton of things to do here, with a range of adventures, a buzzing vibe, and some amazing views. You also have the amazing limestone cliffs that tourists seem to love. Just like the rest of Thailand, Ao Nang boasts crystal-clear waters and dreamy white sands. Nestled on the Andaman Coast, Ao Nang is a dream come true for beach lovers.

Visit Railay Beaches

There’s always something to do in Ao Nang, and Railay Peninsula is one of the top picks. Railay Beach is a hidden gem; you can only get here by boat. When you’re here, it’ll feel like you’re standing on an island, but it’s still a part of the mainland. The area is packed with towering cliffs and lush greenery, with the Andaman Sea giving it a beautiful tropical vibe. With so much going on here, it’s no wonder that Railay Beach is one of the top picks for tourists visiting Thailand.

Keep in mind that there’s an East and West Railay. For some perfect snaps, visit the East side, and the West side is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and kayaking.

Relax at the Emerald Pool

A day trip to the Emerald Pool will show you another side of Krabi, full of lush greenery and tropical rainforests. Nestled in Thung Teao Forest Natural Park, the Emerald Pool is a top pick for those who love nature. But what really sets this freshwater pool apart is its mesmerising turquoise hue. Dive into its lovely and warm water; it is perfect for a long, chilled-out swim.

Trips to the Emerald Pool usually come with a few extra perks. There’s an array of packages on offer, so make sure to pick one that includes a visit to the Tiger Cave Temple. This temple is perched atop a striking limestone mountain, and the 1,200 steps might seem like a lot. But the views that await you at the top are worth the challenging climb. Inside the temple, you’ll find a collection of Buddha statues and decorative arts that soak up the serene vibes of the site.

Both these sites are located within easy reach of Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort – this happens to be an excellent option for those looking for hotels near Krabi Airport.

Visit Hong Island

Hong Island is an amazing spot you really shouldn't miss when you're in Ao Nang. Nestled in Than Bok Khorani National Park, Koh Hong boasts a collection of little islets and a stunning turquoise lagoon. The main island is a dream, with soft sandy beaches dotted with coconut trees, impressive limestone cliffs, and crystal-clear waters brimming with vibrant fish.

There are loads of tours going to Koh Hong. So, choose one that you like the most.

Want to explore Koh Hong at your own speed? Hire a private long-tail boat down at Ao Nang beach. Don’t forget your wallet; you need to have some cash for the National Park entrance fee.

Shop at the Night Market

This is one of the top places to get a good bargain and tuck into some tasty Thai dishes. The Night Market might not be massive, but it's buzzing and packed with delightful street food choices.

There's a bunch of stalls serving Thai favourites, from sticky mango rice and pad Thai to refreshing coconut smoothies. If you want to sample some delicious Thai food along with the quintessential Thai character, make sure the night market is on your Ao Nang hit list.

If you haven’t been to the markets here yet, give Krabi Weekend Night Market a try. The market offers you a fun evening out where you can pick up some souvenirs and sample delicious food.

Take a Cooking Class

Thai food is famous the world over and with good reason. Spices, fish sauce, and tangy lime juice all come together to create dishes with explosive flavours. You can, of course, pop into a restaurant or a roadside stall whenever you fancy some Thai grub, but what if you can make these delicious dishes yourself? You can if you join a cooking class. You can find plenty of cooking classes, so find one and learn to cook Thai food.
