Upcoming Health & Wellness Retreat
Replenish your body and soul in Page, Arizona
In just 1 short month, Santo Tomas Retreats will be returning to the town of Page, which is located in the Northern Arizona. Page is highly popular with both locals and tourists alike. Why is that? Well, the town is super close to Glen Canyon Dam, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend & Lake Powell.
All of which are well worth visiting, and you will not be disappointed! These attractions are some main reasons why Santo Tomas Retreats decided to do retreats in this location. It’s been 2 years since STR hosted their last retreat in Page, and they are super excited to be facilitating the upcoming retreat.
Retreat Highlights
Let me start with a look at the accommodation. This year's retreat is moving to a new house, and the new house looks fantastic. The house is super luxurious and has a lot of amenities to offer incoming guests. How about relaxing around the pool, or even the fire pit? Great options to spend some of your downtime.
Meditation at Horseshoe Bend
Horseshoe bend is a sight to behold. Over the recent years, Horseshoe bend has become super popular with tourists, it’s easy to see why! The views from the top of the canyon are simply stunning.
How about having a meditation in these surroundings? It is a unique place to do a meditation, and it’s one of the highlights of the retreat weekend. The meditation is performed at sunset, and it’s a great time to visit and have the meditation.
Paddleboard/Kayak Adventure on the Colorado River
What a setting for this adventure. You take a boat up the Colorado River, all the way up to Glen Canyon Dam. Then you get off on the bank of the river, and paddleboard/kayak all the way back to Horseshoe Bend.
Meandering along the way through these massive canyon walls is spectacular. Along the way, you stop off to look at ancient petroglyphs. Once you reach the bend, then it’s time for your Yoga class on the bend! What a unique place to practice Yoga — it’s a setting you are unlikely to do such a class in again.
Antelope Canyon
Antelope is a slot canyon, and it’s a fascinating visit. Doing the tour with a Native American guide adds a lot of authenticity. The guide will give you a unique perspective on the canyon and surrounding areas.
The walls of the canyon are so unique, and it’s hard not to stare at them constantly. There are so many great photo opportunities in and around the canyon. The tour goes by fast, and it will be over before you know it.
Lake Powell
Lake Powell is a lot of fun, especially if you like water! It’s a great setting and fantastic place for some paddleboarding, or even if you just like to dip your toes and relax by the lake, it’s ideal for this also.
Spending time at the lake during the retreat is a lot of fun, and it’s not too far from Page. It’s about 20 mins from Page, so it’s basically on the doorstep. I know from the last retreat that the guests enjoyed relaxing at the lake.
Cuisine
All food on the retreat is vegan. If you are vegan/plant based, then this will be right up your street. Even if you aren’t Vegan, it’s an opportunity for you to give it a try for a long weekend. It’s a good introduction to a vegan lifestyle and can truly open your eyes to a different way of eating.
I’m not vegan, but I do eat like vegan food from time to time, once you know how to cook, you can make some delicious meals. As I say, you can get some great recipes on this retreat.
Booking Information
The retreat is run by Hanna and Erin, who are sisters and both have many years experience in running such retreats. Erin is a yoga and paddleboard yoga instructor, while Hanna is a certified health coach, she has been vegan for many years and prepares all the food during the retreat.
I’ll be on the retreat to support my wife (Erin) and Hanna over the weekend. It’s more of an intimate setting, they like to keep numbers small, so if you are interested in attending, as of writing this, there are just a few spots left. You can check out their website here, or if you have any questions, let me know in the comments. Looking forward to seeing you in Page!
