Many experienced photographers will tell you that capturing natural wonders and various travel sights is like capturing the soul of that specific place, moment, or action. So, it is no wonder that many inexperienced individuals ended up being majestic travel influencers. Traveling is generally a very lucrative job, mainly because in today's world when social media are an extremely powerful tool, you have a chance to show off your work to a wider audience. Everybody started from scratch, and build them way up to popularity. Becoming a better visual storyteller only takes time and effort (only), and for you to follow some of these tips.

Seize the moment.

Moment

Opting to capture the vivid nature, local people, or some uncharacteristic moment is your own free will. However, what you end u shooting will depend on your ability to see and notice the potential “good shot”. Of course, that can be almost anything, but as you travel more, investigate and meet new cultures and people, you will figure out that seizing a unique moment makes outstanding photos. Quality lenses, flash, and the camera only help you in that quest, but in the end, it is all about you. Great travel photography can be done with the simplest of equipment. Search, do, feel, even taste the environment, the food, the surrounding and you will feel when is the right time to take a photo. Later, you can edit the things to perfection.

Revel in travel editing.

Landscape

Before you head out to explore the entire world, you might want to sit down and decide on what kind of travel photography will you focus on. For any kind of genre of photography, portrait, landscape, street or wildlife photography, you need to put an effort into it. The booming trend on Instagram and other social networks is the landscape photography where you portray a scenery, show an impact on environmental change, or simply show a magnificent travel sight. After you have taken the pictures from your travels and before you publish it to the world, you should learn how to edit them. By editing landscape photography you can alter the colors and add contrast, enhance the temperature of your images, and boost the natural details. Travel editing doesn’t require any special skills, it only demands creativity and inspiration.

Stand out from the masses.

Taj Mahal

When it comes to travel photography, it is really hard to be different. Nevertheless, in travel photography you can be genuine because there will be things on your journey that you can only see, moments and stories to capture that only you can notice. Just like The Blonde Abroad is exploring Cape Town and posting her travel photography from her own point of view, that is how you should aim to achieve. Stand out from the masses by taking mesmerizing photos from your angle, post them online, and you will see how people will follow and respond to your professional progress. Take the pictures from the ground, use a tripod to fixate a certain view, climb a tree to get the best landscape photo, and explore, explore. The world is an endless field. By being distinctive you will be able to prosper unconditionally and truly have a fantastic visual story to tell.

Push the envelope.

Taj Mahal

One of the best ways to test your limits is to get more creative. Probably thousands of people have taken a photo of Taj Mahal, or stunning Amalfi Coast, but in order to top all of them up you need to go to extremes. There are many factors that create fantastic travel photos, and according to some of the influencers, it is weather, flat or overflow shadows, and perfect exposure. Use all of the things that nature offers you and take HDR photos using Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) function. You will showcase popular travel destination in a whole new creative level. Furthermore, if you want to take a photo of a moving object, such as a waterfall, set up a tripod and place your camera, and simply play with all the buttons on it. Align the image and shoot with all modes possible. Only by being bold and artistic will you show flabbergasting visual story.

Culinary Stories

Street food

There is nothing better than combining business with pleasure. And with travel photography, you can not only do that but also enlighten all of your senses. Food all around the world shouldn't only be tasted, but also photographed. The key to getting fantastic food photos from your travels is light. The best thing would be to take photos under natural light, in that way everybody could see and experience the true visual aspect of a certain food. Plus, try taking photos from different angles again. Some plates, like pizza or sushi, look better from above, and burgers look better from the side, and so on. Above all, clear out any clutter around the plate, spoons, forks or napkins, better capture the surroundings and background.

A true travel influencer will spend time building up his story. So be patient, persistent, and enjoy!
