Housing some of the biggest Australian landmarks, the harbour is inevitable in this list and rightly so on top of it as well. The combination of the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and the waterways with some elements of the city skyline is a common picture you will find in many Australian tourism magazines and has become a staple in promoting Sydney’s tourism. A unique way to enjoy this iconic view is to get a seat on the harbour cruise dinner offering illuminated views of the cityscapes and the landmarks along with delicious food and drinks. Choose the authentic paddlewheeler from the vast array of vessels and you can enjoy a live cabaret show. This calls for another photo opportunity! You can also opt for a Sydney lunch cruise should you want to enjoy the views during daytime and under the sun.

Clicking a photo on top of the Wedding Cake Rock is a challenging but highly-rewarding activity. As a bonus you can also enjoy an endless view of the ocean and the surrounding landscapes while you're on the top clicking awesome snaps. This fragile rock formation located on the long walking trail from Royal National Park is one of the most photographed locations in Sydney, especially for couples. This walking track that leads to the rock formation is rough, rocky and steep so be prepared with the right attire and equipment! Tempting as it may be, it is important to note that one must stay on the safe side of the fences for safety reasons, as the rock is unstable.

Larkin Street Lookout, Balls Head

This is one of North Sydney’s most prominent areas of urban bushland, located on the foreshore of the harbour and a popular recreational spot among locals. It offers great views of the city which you can enjoy all by yourself at any time of the day. If you visit at night you can catch those city lights! The lookout point is located ten minutes deep into the reserve and if you're looking for a longer walk, hop on the Balls Head to Lavender Bay trail which has several more gorgeous photo locations!

Centennial Park

Any spot inside here is instagram worthy and that is no exaggeration. If you're tired of looking at the ocean, this is a great place to reset and relax with fresh air, shades of trees, numerous picnic spots and of course the lush gardens. Being a popular place for bird-watching you can also click photos of some feathered friends who come here to visit. Explore this vast 189 hectares of open space and click random photos of you and your companions with various backdrops!

Cremorne Point Walk (Bridge)

Unlike anywhere else in Sydney, this little bridge in the middle of the Cremorne Point Walk offers an incredible photo opportunity right in the jungle. It’s well worth checking out, especially when the golden light of the late afternoon hits the ground through the leaves of the towering tropical trees! It can be easily accessed in the short and easy walk from Cremorne Point to Mosman Bay.
