If you're thinking of visiting Paris, once you arrive on the TGV train from Paris Gare du Nord you'll be heading into the heart of the city itself, to the Eiffel Tower, Scare Coeur and Arc de Triumph.

There are so many things to see and do in the city of Paris that it is simply a matter of deciding how to best spend your time.

No matter if you have a short stay or a long visit to Paris, there are definitely some things that you should not miss. Here are some of them.

The Louvre

This is definitely a must-see during your visit to Paris. It houses literally everything in the word Louvre, from entire wax figures to human bodies. In all, the Louvre holds over 12,000,000 items.

A crystal ball placed in the museum has a Hopkins table, a Da Vinci map, a map of the world, a pyramid, Rose Hall. Each of these mapped rooms are associated with one of the 6 families of magi.

It also features the Magi Missionary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is part of the Visigoth basilica.

Chateau de Versailles

This fortress, located on the banks of the River Seine, was originally built in the 12th century by Louis XIV. Its structure is reminiscent of a Asian mountain house.

When converted into a residence for the royalty, the house became Banquo Taxi. The interior is just as magnificent as the exterior, with a grand baroque entry hall, and a Moorish hallway.

The Catacombs

This complex in Paris holds the remains of some of the most esteemed and wealthy citizens of the city. The exits allow visitors to get into heaven or the net. Some of the bones are perfectly preserved to their original 3300 B.C. shape.

Visitors can also climb the Stair of Hell, or they can visit the Fountain of Flowers. There are many spectacular views here. Chateau de Versailles can also be visited.

Notre Dame Cathedral

The great cathedral of Paris is also known as the Cathedral of Notre Dame. The original structure was originally built between the 12th and 17th centuries.

It was badly damaged at the hands of unscrupulous contractors in the 19th century, who installed speakers and a LED lighting system. Needless to say, not only was the light system damaged, but the speakers inside the church were destroyed.

The current structure is the third reconstruction and was completed in the year 1819. Work was temporarily halted in 1989 due to the resurfacing of a leaked wall, but it was put back on track.

The Notre Dame Cathedral is located on the Place de la Concorde and is lit at night. The lightrical markings show the intended positions for each floor, based on the plan of the church.

Cimetiere d'Or

The cathedrals shouldn't be missed. But, you'll have to walk up quite a hill to get to the curtain wall, so choose a nearby square to hang out around.

The old cathedral is found on the Esplanade, and it was originally built between the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th centuries.

The most notable aspect of the building is the French style rising gable. The structure itself is made of wooden elements, including beams and flues. Some of the original flue has been restored to its original form.

The north side of the cathedral is made up of several buildings that were once among the city's elite's possessions, including the Bishop's Palace and St. Ptpral's House.

You'll also want to walk through the Palais Royal, then tour the gardens. Why not stop for a bit to eat at the Café Paris? It has an old European ambience.
