Everyone loves a vacation. Whether you are visiting relatives, hitting the beach, staying at the cabin by the lake, or exploring the mountains. Sometimes you just relax, and other times, every day is a new adventure. Then there are those who seek true adventures in a new place, never seen before. These are your exotic destinations. They are usually in the tropics, or another country only reachable by plane.

Vacationing in exotic places, you will experience new cultures, foods, weather, plant life, sea life, and animals. If you go to Mexico, you can explore the Ancient Mayan Ruins. perhaps you will go snorkeling, exploring coral reefs. There you will see beautiful and colorful saltwater fish varieties. If you head to Hawaii, you can fly over volcanoes, or take hikes to magnificent waterfalls. You will see all the beautiful orchids along the way, as well. Take some time to do some epic surfing too.

Australia

Perhaps you will want to surf in Australia too. There are so many things to see and do in Australia. There, you can visit the famous Sydney Opera House, or you can experience the animals there which everyone knows about, kangaroos and those furry little koalas too. Scuba diving is also a great treat, along the Great Barrier Reef.

The Tropic

There are so many different tropical places to visit, all around the world. There is the Bahamas, St Barts, the Caribbean, Fiji, Tahiti, Maldives, and more. Each place has its own culture to experience as well. You will love trying some of the locals' favorite dishes too. Don't worry about costs. You can visit any one of these places on a budget. You don't have to be like the Kardashians!

Be aware of certain animals and insects that you are not used to seeing, and being around. Tropical places often have bigger insects, and reptiles, some that bite, and some that don't. In some places, you will encounter, not the common House Spider, but much larger versions. Florida is known for the huge banana spider, which makes giant webs. They are about three inches across and are terrifying for those of us with Arachnophobia. They can bite you and leave quite a welt, but it won't kill you. If you are visiting the Amazon you may want to be educated before going.

The different things you'll see

There are beautiful insects, birds, and reptiles to be seen when visiting tropical climates. In Florida, there are giant grasshoppers, which are 4" inches long and brightly colored with yellow, orange, and red on them. You can see giant woodpeckers, flamingoes, parrots, gopher turtles, and more. If you are lucky, you may see a "fox squirrel," which is twice the size of a normal squirrel. Be aware of fire ants. Do not leave food outside or in your car, as they are quickly attracted to it. You don't even realize they are on you until they start biting. There are not poisonous, but it stings, then itches for several days.

When on any vacation, always be aware of your surroundings. Thieves are always on the lookout for easy targets, which are you the tourist. Make sure to have your valuables secured. Remember when you are in the tropics, the sun is much brighter than you are used to. Keep sunscreen on hand, and reapply throughout the day. Nothing ruins a vacation like a sunburn does. Make sure to find out about dangerous insects and reptiles where you are going, and if they could be in the general area of your visit. Stay away from bushes, where these critters like to seek shelter. Heed this advice, and you will have a great time. Have fun!
