The Beauty of Revere Golf Club

They welcome Harvest Host RV members

Randy and I try to travel in our motorhome without pressure. As retirees we usually don’t have to hurry or be anywhere at a set time. Life is great! However, a couple weeks ago we bought a new motorhome, a 2020 32-foot Tiffin Open Road. Because finalizing the deal took longer than expected, and we were required to have a driver take us past the state line, we ended up needing a place to stay at 11:00 pm.

Our original plan was to drive an hour and stay at an RV park in California, but that ended up not being possible; that is another story.

Be Informed Before Buying an RV in California

Harvest Host is a safe and enjoyable alternative to staying in RV parks, so I started scanning the options. When accessing this resource, we usually plan ahead and allow more time to communicate with the host. Since that wasn’t possible, I doubted we would find a place available, but we did.

Early in the day, I checked all the usual places that we have stayed in and around Las Vegas only to find prices ranged around $100.00. Since we planned to sleep and drive away early the next day, the idea left a bitter taste in my mouth and thoughts of better ways to spend that money whirled in my head.

Revere Golf Club

The Revere Golf Club stated they welcomed same day stays so I apprehensively sent an email request. Within moments a reply stated there was room for us, provided driving directions and instructions of where to park. Thank goodness.

Their physical address is Henderson, but from their location a view of Las Vegas skyline at night is beautiful and Vegas is a short distance away for anyone wishing to combine golf and excitement of the strip.

“Experience a premier Las Vegas Golf Course at its finest at the Revere Golf Club. Offering 36-holes of championship golf nestled just off the strip in Henderson, Revere Golf Club provides golfers unique challenges with panoramic views of the famous Las Vegas strip. Teeing off at one of Revere Golf Club’s two distinct courses, Lexington or Concord, guarantees your Las Vegas golf vacation will be exciting and challenging. Round out your experience with a delicious meal or cocktail at the newly renovated Buckman’s Grille and grab a special souvenir from our fully stocked golf shop.” — www.reveregolf.com

When we arrived one other RV was in the parking lot. By the absence of lights, we assumed they were already tucked in bed and the clubhouse was closed. The area was quiet, and the spacious parking lot allowed for a comfortable experience. We chose a spot far enough away from our neighbors so as to not disturb their slumber. Just that afternoon we had purchased our new RV, so we had a lot to learn about how the systems functioned. This area accommodated our needs without the stress of onlookers or worry about waking others due to our late arrival.

Harvest Host requests members pay it forward when they stay at any of the participating hosts property by supporting their business. This suited us perfectly since our new home on wheels had no utensils, plates, cups, or . . . anything! In the morning we visited the clubhouse for breakfast. It rests on top of a hill overlooking the course and off in the distance one can see Las Vegas. Our table positioned us in front of wall of windows that accentuated the picturesque scene.

The prompt, pleasant waitress took our orders and returned with hot plates of delectable food. On the day of our stay, there was a golf tournament beginning, making the outside venue crowded and busy. This didn’t impact any aspect of our experience, and everything was positive. I even made a point to leave a comment praising the establishment for their professionalism and offering such a comfortable opportunity.

Since we didn’t have time to play a round during this stay, I put them in my list of future things to do. We are planning a trip to Palm Springs later this month that will take us through Las Vegas, and onto Henderson where we stay one night at Revere Golf Couse. We are excited to play one of the two courses: the Lexington, a 7,143-yard, par 72 course or the Concord, a 7034-yard, par 72 course.

If we had not found this beautiful facility through Harvest Host, we may never have known about its existence. If you are interested in playing golf in this area, I strongly suggest investigating The Revere. We will.
