Bermuda Cruise Part 3
This morning when we went up to the pool deck, a net was covering the pool because there was a storm last night and today the water was choppy. It began to rain around 10:30, so we were forced back inside.

This morning was our first sighting of land. After sleeping in and having breakfast in the Garden Cafe, we went out on deck to get our first glimpse of Bermuda. Since we would not be able to get off the ship until one o’clock, Mom and I looked for something to do until then. We decided to go to the Aqua Dining Room for an art auction. Since we were there early, we checked out the art and sipped on mimosa. We did not bid on anything during the auction because most of the lots were too expensive, but there plenty of pieces that we liked. My favorites were the paintings by an artist named Linda Le Kinff, whose elongated forms and bright, vivid colors were compared to Matisse and Modigliani. For attending the auction, we received a free print.

I would not necessarily call myself a superstitious person, but I have some faith in good and bad omens, mostly because they tend to be self-fulfilling. A good or bad omen can affect your mood for the rest of the day.

This is a day trip for the islanders at heart, for those who want to discover a little more than meets the eye in Puerto Rico, go deeper into the history of our roots, especially our musical and artistic roots. This is a kind of day that most Puerto Ricans will have on a Sunday, a day to eat, enjoy the beach and have a beer (or two). This region is known for its fritters, traditional staples of the island, its beautiful beaches and our African roots.

While there is no doubt that there are plenty of high rise hotels in Aruba, there are also quainter romantic gems away from the main drag and plenty of natural beauty if you want to get away from the commercial side of this luxurious island.

Someday soon, you will be arriving at an airport in Central America. Your 9-5 job has exhausted you and an escape began to form in your mind. Months or years of saving has left a hefty sum in your pocket and now is the time to splurge on the one thing on your mind: your feet digging in soft, pearly-white sand. An ocean breeze blows your hair back and just as you exhale and think of how grateful you are to simply be alive... a handsome man in a uniform brings you a colorful, fruity cocktail. Alternatively, a cute woman with the prettiest eyes and most intoxicating smile arrives with a stack of neatly-folded towels. A towel is handed to you as she says "Buenos días," in an accent oh-so-sweet, you imagine crossing paths later that day, only to propel yourself in a holiday-fling with her. Bottom-line: you feel acknowledged. "This is bliss."

Santa Marta is an undiscovered gem of a city located on the northeastern tip of Atlantic coast of Colombia. I say that it’s an ‘undiscovered gem’ because it usually flies under the radar when compared to its coastal counterparts of Cartagena and Barranquilla. Still though, for Colombians and foreigners alike on vacation, Santa Marta has a lot to offer its visitors. I was drawn to Santa Marta a couple of months ago when I visited its neighboring town of Minca, which is also quite beautiful and full of lush scenery up in the mountains. Unfortunately, I did not get to spend much time in Santa Marta so I decided that during my 2nd time living in Colombia, I could not pass up the chance to visit this city if I had the chance.
SUP Boarder Finds Way Across Atlantic In Incredible First
There's a whole lot of ocean between South Africa and the island of Antigua, but Chris Bertish of South Africa covered it on nothing but a paddle board.

When planning a trip, we now have more options than the standard hotel or motel when we are exploring the world. Airbnb has made it possible for us to leave home and explore the world from a number of different settings. While most of us opt for the cozy feel of someone’s apartment, there are so many unique and exciting places we can now stay when on vacation, and nothing is more exciting or unique than your own island.
