Thinking about a trip? If you are considering where to go for a holiday, think about going to Bermuda. The following article discusses many of the activities that Bermuda has to offer.
Surviving a Third World Hospital
I guess before I talk about how I survived, I have to give a little information on how I got there right? Ha, wouldn’t you like to know! So my story isn’t a funny one. It’s actually pretty serious, but it goes to show that if you don’t take a break when you need to, your body will force you to take a break when you’re supposed to. In my heart and body I felt okay, and I wasn’t just being hard headed, but by the time you’re 2/3 up a couple of mountains and you feel congested, do you turn around or keep marching on? I kept marching on.

I was born in the Bahamas so I know all about Junkanoo. I also know that people make a bucket list of all the things they want to do before they get old or die, which is understandable. It might give them a purpose in life. They make their list and focus on it. It helps guide them towards new experiences in life and it also helps them set a goal in life. And that is why I believe that traveling to the Bahamas and being a part of Junkanoo should definitely be on their list. So, I’m going to give you 7 reasons why you should add Junkanoo to your bucket list.

Jamaica was my dream destination: Sun, Sand, and Surf. Unfortunately, the build-up of excitement and anticipation of getting away for a week was probably the most enjoyable part of my trip!

When something doesn't work out, what do you do? Eat some ice cream, buy a new sofa, watch your favourite Vine compilation video. They seem like normal responses... ish. To be fair, I did do those things for a while (apart from buying a sofa), but they got boring so I went to the Caribbean for two months instead.
Hidden Gems of the Caribbean
North of Haiti and East of Cuba you will find the Turks and Caicos Islands. The island of Providenciales (Provo to the locals) is home to Grace Bay, consistently voted the best beach in the world. It is the very image of paradise with its white sandy bays and crystal blue waters. However, it is the slightly lesser known Islands of North and Middle Caicos that I would like to draw your attention to today.

What I Did With One Day in Havana
With all that Havana, Cuba has to offer the prospect of spending just a day in the infamous city seemed overwhelming. Our trip to Havana was via the Norwegian Sky, a cruise ship that makes the trip from Miami to Havana and a private island in the Bahamas and back again weekly. Traveling on a cruise is always nice because it requires little planning on the part of the traveler (and you can't go wrong with a cruise that offers an open bar, am I right?). The downside to cruising is the minimal amount of time available to spend exploring the ports.

Just like the fairy tales, this story's catalyst was a masquerade ball. In the summer of 2014, I turned 27. I sold everything that didn't fit into a duffle bag, including my car. I quit my job, and walked away from my entire life. Why? Why not. I felt stuck. I booked a flight to Ft. Lauderdale and the taxi dropped me off at a crew-house situated right next to a sex shop... at night, in the rain. A good, strong start. What's a crew-house? Think The Real World, only thankfully, nobody was broadcasting. The house was a stop-over for potential crew—kids trying to get jobs in the world of private yachting. I remember walking into the house. It didn't look like much from the outside. I had to call a few times to get the owner on the line, I went to meet her around back and entered into the next—truly bizarre—phase of my life. The hallway was lined with refrigerators, the black-tiled floor led to an open concept kitchen and living space with a spiral staircase winding up to a hall of dorms. I was the first to arrive for the season—anxious to have something new in my world—and the emptiness of the house kicked off what would be an extremely long waiting period.

I am often referred to as a 'small island girl' being born in the Caribbean over half a century ago. Although I no longer live on my tiny island of Trinidad, I still refer to it as my home.
